I am a glutton for punishment.
I can't honestly remember the last time I was truly happy as a fan.
-
:emawkid:
-
i went because it was cheap and easy. eff me.
-
Economical and had a national top 3 rated program for my degree. Fanhood happens.
eff you guys.
-
Actually, eff it, I'm changing my answer.
I am a fan of this shitty atheletic program because I am not a big enough douche to root for a school I didn't go to.
I am not going to be the guy with the Nebraska hat during football season or the Duke/KU/North Carolina hat during basketball season.
I'd rather wallow in loses and self pitty for my entire life than be THAT rough ridin' pathetic. There are fans of Florida Atlantic who are better than those douchebags.
-
I would be a k-state fan.
-
well, we attend the best academic school in the country.
and sucking makes last year even more fist-pumpier. a ku hoops fan cannot relate.
-
I can't wait for tanoudji to see this and destroy you weak willed losers
-

dead rough ridin' on. You have to have balls to be a KSU fan. most on goEMAW.com even have no balls.
-
Def have to have balls, but more importantly have to be able to absorb multiple kicks to them.
-
Even with disappointing expectations, this season is easy. Its been much worse than this.

i agree, the wooly years were just pure hell.

I seriously can't get mad at these guys. I like all of them. I just want them to do well, and don't get mad when they lose. I don't get mad at anything they do.

the worst was people that thought we were doing well back then.
-
We had a 9 losses in a run with Wooly where we lost the 9 games by a collective 14 pts.
Wooly days were much worse/more KITN.
-
I hated being CU's bitch. So glad they are leaving.
-
My undergrad alma mater (not KU) has its very own special history of KITN, so I'm kinda used to it by now. If and when either school breaks through, it will just make it that much sweeter.

Subtle. :eye:

honestly, it's fascinating. from a physiology standpoint, what defines us as a KSU fan? some sort of voltage across our neurons? so like a kstate fan has a resting potential of -65 mv, and a KU fan has a resting potential of -60 mv or something.
pissclams, fire up the research lab! we may have our greatest paper ever!
-
Oh, and I am not cool with this season because it's "better than Wooly", I'm ok with it because in the big picture absolutely everything is better than it was under Wooly, and is still pretty good relative to the league.

6-10 will make me pretty angry. 7-9 as well, kind of miffed.

put this in a spatial context and i'll be third author

I think I'm going to spend the rest of my night looking for a copy of the Elite 8 run DVD. eff my life right now.

but big picture shows our current coach is capable of 6-10. which sucks.

Yes. The program as a whole is still in pretty decent shape as long as we don't have a bad defection (McGruds, Samuels) this offseason.
-
Aren't most coaches capable of 6-10? :dunno: Especially with a young team in a well matched league?
-
the worst was people that thought we were doing well back then.
the worst is that people think we are doing poorly now. and i don't know if the a.d. is smart enough to know that those people are dumbasses.
-

i think sampson/sutton went 6-10 like once in thirty years combined.
i was kind of hoping frank was a sampson/sutton clone

There's still a chance that Frank will only do it once. :crossfingers:

The thing about KSU is we have just enough success to make it seem really sweet when we are good.
In my 21 or so years of fandom dating back to 1987-88 we have been pretty good at something almost every year.
-
WE ARE
K-STATE
-
it's not just about bad seasons. i would take several 6-10 seasons from frank if he also made a final four.

not entirely sure i agree with that statement prior to this year but starting next year i 100% agree with it.

I fist-pumped the entire night of 39-14. Still don't give a crap that they went 5-7...I just flat-out hate those fuckers. :dunno:

Iowa, Wisconsin, and KSU offered me scholarships.
'grats, t_c_t.

Wonderful to be EMAW.
I'm just hopeful saying "I've been to the last three wins over KU" doesn't span 5 years in the near future.

Had my all time high and low in less than a 30 day period. My sophomore year at K-State.

these are the fatty posts i enjoyed the most. Always got a good lol when he tied physics or bio into a post

1. Always been a 'Cat fan since 4th grade
2. Visited both KU and K-State when picking a school. KU was stuffy, faculty was pompous. K-State had a prof give me a personal tour of the campus.
3. When I graduated, K-State was listed as in the top 20 schools for my degree program in the US. KU wasn't even in the top 100.
Have really enjoyed football over the last 20 years, basketball that last 6. Would NEVER be a fan of another school. Ever.
