The truth is we have no idea how good/bad Ertz is because we have no idea how good/bad the Stanford defense is. Ertz in general took way too long to get rid of the ball, which is either because he couldn't make his progressions or because the Stanford secondary was generally tight enough that his receivers could not get open. The only thing we know for sure at this point is Ertz has given us no reason to think he is or will be better than any of KSU's last few QBs. Obviously that is not saying much since he just had his first game against a good team, but whether you are optimistic about him or not at this point is just a choice, it's not based on any facts.
