mention of current kstate interest.

“He has gotten interest from UNLV, Miami, Central Florida, Clemson, and Kansas State. He hasn’t sat down with his family yet. He’s gonna go through the whole process,” said Mark Lieberman the head coach at Pace. “All of them have inquired. Some were involved before. He wants to take his visits,”

That is kind of interesting.  Looks like the roster of Akeem Wright's may come sooner than expected...

inorite.  but if they can get him in now, it'd seem advantageous to do it.  even if just to redshirt him and sign some 2011 scrub instead of the 2010 scrub they're looking at now.

Don't look at it that way.

I'd rather have Nino in 2011 than next year, but I mostly want to see them lock this guy up.  So, if they have to bring him in and redshirt him, I'd be great with that.

2011 issues will remain either way.

Maybe with Nino now in the '10 class they'll have to actually go and start recruiting for '11?

Wouldn't this eliminate the possibility of Shipman and/or Babb transferring here?  They would need to be walk ons during their redshirt seasons if Nino came next season, right?

This is my concern too.  May shazbot! up other things(PG's) in the works.

If the kid's odds are no better than 50-50(per his AAU coach), wouldn't it be best for him to go ahead and plan on going the prep route?

I imagine this all ends with him qualifying, deciding he doesn't want to go prep, us signing a PG before the end of June, and Nino decides to go to CU when they get a new and good coach.

Yeah, but it never seemed like we were pursuing either that hard

We seem to only be after 2011 PGs though

Yes.

I kind of hope this is the case because holding one for Nino would prevent them from getting Ray Shipman, which would be an absolutely worthless get.

Babb...I'd take.  Shipman...we don't need another Dom Sutton.

There really aren't many 'must-have' JUCO PG's out there that I can see, and it's going to be very hard to find a 3x3 transfer guy (after a redshirt) because a 2x2 just means we'll have to replace six when this year's freshmen roll though.

Would love to have Babb.  He's proven, and he can shoot the 3

We don't really seem to be pursuing a 2010 Nino that hard, either.  (Or anyone but 11 PG's now that I think about it).

I don't know if there's much they can do to pursue a 2010 Nino.  The NCAA Clearinghouse probably won't make a determination for another eight months (since we're not KU), so unless we want to waste a year of his eligibility, it would be best to redshirt him that year, or just wait until 2011.

However, as stated above, I'd rather they just hold it for him and keep the ship for 2011.

They could, I don't know, talk to him about the possibility.  Doesn't sound like that's happened.

Getting Nino now would be fine, I doubt we'll find better now.  Getting a kid we had targeted for next year while allowing us to focus on the 11 class.  Unfortunately, we have to wait until June to know for sure, I suppose it will come down to if we're willing to risk that and perhaps have to hold that 'ship until next year if he doesn't make it.
