Yes, it was specifically used as a teaching moment for Jon.

Well, it was a teaching moment for Bran, really. Jon was just there because everyone else was.

OK, you are right but it obviously left an impression on Jon.

I was not expecting the Sansa-Ramsey Bolton marriage. Whoa mama.

I wondered this too, but Cersei isn't the queen so it has to be Dany. It also seems a lot more practical to take him to Mereen vs Kings Landing since they are in Essos.

Also, what do you think Varys thinks about when he's in a brothel? Must be very awkward, right?

I think you are supposed to wonder which one he means....he doesn't yet know that Tommen married Margaery so he might still refer to Cersei as "the queen"....you are supposed to wonder if he is still trying to win Dany's favor or if he has decided to turn on her completely and go back to the Lannisters.....

....But he is taking him to Dany.

Also Varys feels a kinship toward the whores.
rough ridin' SPOILER ALERT!

That's just, like, my opinion on what is happening....I have no idea what is going on now that they deviated from the books so much.

And what about those other people who said he was taking Tyrion to Dany?

I read an episode 3 recap this morning that mentioned the Sansa story had gone completely away from the books. Pretty soon no one will know what's going on there.

Yep, Sansa is completely off the rails from the book. I can probably guess what happens to her for the next several episodes based on her location and "companions", but after that  :dunno:

Yeah, I don't like the possibilities for Sansa, but it will be interesting to see how she reacts to any abuse by Ramsey and how it will differ from her reaction to Joffery's abuse.

Also, Grey Worm isn't dead, right????

It looked like Grey Worm killed a guy who was about to slit Barristan's throat before he could do it, but then they both died anyway. Maybe they are just gravely wounded, though.

i would not approve of grey worm being dead. also what would have been the point of all that if he was?

did not like how the elite megawarrior unsullied just got massacred everywhere by dorks with knives.

I think Barristan is dead and Grey Worm is just injured....and yeah while I was watching I said, "Why is Grey Worm so much better than all the other Unsullied?" They were all getting their asses kicked except him.

With Barristan gone, it is going to give Dany more reason to accept Jorah back as an adviser.
