I feel like that was the main reason he shot the arrow. He wanted to earn the trust of the other Wildings so he could save them.

Just started binge rewatching GoT from the first episode. Should finish about the time Season 5 wraps up.

Damn - I forgot how dark the first few were, even by GoT standards. Shoving Bran out the window in epi 1 and Joffrey being a dick and getting the baker's boy and the dog killed in epi 2. Really hated the Lanisters and the Hound back then.

But it's fun rewatching now that I know who the characters are and how they're related. A lot of that backstory went over my head the first time around.

I start rewatching them around february, but i got held up and only got to the end of season 3 this year. I paid for it when 'clams silverbacked me about Yunkai earlier

Daenerys. He wants to win her trust back is my guess. She kicked him out and he has nowhere to go.

I wondered this too, but Cersei isn't the queen so it has to be Dany. It also seems a lot more practical to take him to Mereen vs Kings Landing since they are in Essos.

Also, what do you think Varys thinks about when he's in a brothel? Must be very awkward, right?

I think you are supposed to wonder which one he means....he doesn't yet know that Tommen married Margaery so he might still refer to Cersei as "the queen"....you are supposed to wonder if he is still trying to win Dany's favor or if he has decided to turn on her completely and go back to the Lannisters.....

....But he is taking him to Dany.

Also Varys feels a kinship toward the whores.
