Anyone ever fished any of the strip pits down by Pittsburg KS?Going to a wedding in Independence KS at the end of April and plan on stopping by the stip pits wildlife area on the way home looking for some bass.

my great grandfather lived in Pittsburg for a time and he used to. Lots of good stories. He spent most of his retired life fishing crappie at grand lake.

One day he way swimming by what he thought was a car...then it moved. Said he won't dive in the pits anymore.

I'm too lazy to go through and this may be luked or I may be lukeing myself but how great of a song is fishing in the dark by nitty gritty dirt band.
