I'm moving and just getting rid of everything, much easier.
My plan to burn the house down with everything in it when we want to move would be very efficient really.

I would rather deal with insurance people than the PITA of moving

Not the kind of insurance people you get to deal with when they think you burned your house down

Moving across town is probably a different animal from what I've had to do

I agree, I am in the moving process right now.  Move one to temporary housing then move two to new house.  I don't know where anything is and I have to do laundry a lot, but we move in the 21st and that will be nice.

Me: Pack up all this stuff in boxes and then load everything up.
Movers: Yes sir

Later

Me: Unload all of that stuff in this new house
Movers:  Yes sir

What's so hard?   :dunno:

You had to tell them to put stuff in boxes?

But yeah, movers are great. An incredible value, really.

We are hiring movers this time.  We have been at our current address for 14 years and with three kids there is a bit more involved in the process.  However, moving is a great time to go through your crap and throw away/donate things that you have accumulated and not used for some time.  The main part that is stressing me out is making sure we get all of the records for our business switched to our new address and don't forget something important along the way.

Also, we close on the new house and the sale of our current one on the same day (20th).  We have until the 21st to get all of our crap out so hopefully the moving guys can pull it off.

The pain of moving increases exponentially with the increase of time you have lived there.

When you buy all new stuff and have the movers move it, makes it a lot less hassle
