Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Thanks for sharing that. It's interesting that the Star, who has basically one reporter (hired by the Eagle) following K-State, was able to find this out.

That's a well thought out business model...I don't think I've ever seen a for-profit organization that throws out as many excuses for not being able to do their job as GPC.

Oddball and completely off topic question regarding vacuum cleaners

I am tired of going through a $300 vacuum every 5 years, and thinking of biting the bullet and dropping a couple grand for either a Kirby or Rainbow. I have looked at the Dysons as well, but that seems to be just a lot of marketing. Anybody with experience on this one? Are they worth the money? I know that the high end brands will be more durable, but do they do a better job, deeper cleaning, etc?

My house is about half hardwood half carpet, and we do have animals and young kids, so messes are plentiful.

Someone respond and tell him that it's completely sane to drop a couple grand on a vacuum. and the only way to tell if you're getting a deeper clean is to stuff your nose in the carpet and huff for about ten minutes.

My God.  Every time this thread is updated I just want to dig a hole to the center of the Earth and jump down it so I burn up in the core and don't have to suffer these dipshits anymore.  Three grand for a vacuum cleaner?  Yeah, that's a super good idea, go for it.

Best post by that guy was when he came on a couple years ago and posted his story about getting into an argument with a KU fan and nearly getting into fisticuffs at footlocker or something.

That's very good. Two good KSU graduates who had the school's best interest at heart. Glad to see them select them. I hope to see more KSU grads as analysts along with the Journalism students getting the experience they need.

Wasn't Chris going to work with Clint Stewart at ConocoPhillips? Is he not going to be doing that anymore, or will he be an analyst in his spare time?

I could understand that kind of sarcasm and nastiness if it had been directed at a KU or Nubb guy, but no need or reason to treat our own that way. Seemed like a legit question to me too.

I think the point of the antagonists is that the K-State network is only going to show games that aren't televised on major networks, thus there will be very few shown and therefore noone would quit their good job to work 3 or 4 games.
