Calling for any and all California pro-tips!

I have recently been gifted Knicks tickets to games on Sunday Jan 21st at the Lakers and Tuesday the 23rd at the Warriors. I have never been to California before and have no idea what to expect this time of the year. All I've been told is to spend as much of the trip in LA and as little time as possible in Oakland. I have plenty of UR points and bigdavefreemawgf has plenty of SPG points so the sky is the limit. Plan is to land in LA either Thursday or Friday, and fly out of Oakland/San Fran on Wednesday after the game. I have a friend who lives in Long Beach so one or two evenings will most likely be spent there.

1. Nappa/wine valley. Is it too cold that time of the year?
2. Rent a car and drive along highway 1 and take the scenic route? Or catch a flight between LA and San Fran/Oakland?
3. Golden Gate Bridge?
4. Lots of other cool options I haven't even considered?

Thanks for your thoughts and I'll listen off the air.

1. Nappa/wine valley. Is it too cold that time of the year? No, get faced on wine
2. Rent a car and drive along highway 1 and take the scenic route? Or catch a flight between LA and San Fran/Oakland? Fly imo. I like flying though. can get faced and check out airports.
3. Golden Gate Bridge? I rode a bike across it and got faced in Sausalito one afternoon. It was only ok. Won't do again.
4. Lots of other cool options I haven't even considered? Russian River Brewery. facetime app but it's just your entire face and it's faced.

i don't think hwy 1 is repaired yet in big sur.  also there are really nice views and stuff in parts, but a lot of it is just tedious driving in occasionally really slow traffic.

Up north it gets into the 30s/40s at night and you'll want a jacket. A hoodie will be sufficient for both day and night in both places.

That's a pretty long drive, basically kc to dallas on a lower speed road but would be beautiful.

The Korean peace bell in long Beach is kinda neat if you liked the movie the usual suspects, but it's not must see or anything

I drove Hwy 1 between SF and LA. I remember it fondly. Great life experience.

but in all seriousness don't waste time in Napa if you only have one day. giant snoozefest and you see one winery you've seen them all IMO. You can get faced and have an amazing meal in SF (or Oakland) without having to worry about how to get home. Also if you only spend Monday driving up the 1 you will feel rushed. spend as much time as you want in LA, fly north and have a nice dinner in SF or Oakland Monday night. Golden Gate Bridge is pretty amazing. The Bridge plus the cable car are by far my favorite tourist things to do. There is also a ton of other cool stuff you could see close to wherever you stay in SF I'm sure. (don't know if Oakland has any decent SPG hotels)

And then try to avoid but nevertheless get into an inexplicable confrontation with a homeless man.

Wear sturdy sandals. Mine broke while pak'ing out there and when you're walking around san fran in bare feet, you're pretty much walking in human feces up to your ankles.

When i'm on my free wifi because i'm a premium member on Southwest I can tweet Facebook, instagram, etc. It's all the same. This doesn't put delta over the top, it just means they've been behind.
