I have a friend that had a son the Prince was recruiting and he had nothing good to say about Prince after their in-home. My friend said that every other coach they had in their house was interested in their son and his family. Prince on the other hand wanted to talk about himself--this turned their son off and he committed elsewhere. Then after he committed Prince called the kid and chewed him out. This was a kid that was a KSU fan and was just disinchanted once he met the coach. Does not sound good to me.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I dont think Prince would've called him to chew him out -- his M.O. is the F-you text message.

Maybe the recruit let out an incorrect commitment growl

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Any player that does not love to listen to Prince talk as much as Prince does just isn't going to make it on our team anyway.

What does the kid being a Kent State fan have to do with it?  Silly Okies...

That may very well be true about Prince, in fact I don't doubt it.

However, it's pretty well known that several of OU's coaches both recent past and present could get a serious case of the red ass if a recruit wasn't doing what they wanted him to do.

There's a reason why coaches with OU ties have a tendency to "pull offers" when a kid does stuff they don't like.

Most fans seem to like him because he talks pretty. I'm undecided. I cannot decide if this year was a fluke or not because we did end on a pretty crapty note..

The thing posted by the Okie fan goes completely against everything that I have heard about Prince. Usually you hear that kids are blown away by Prince and that is the main reason that they chose KSU over schools like NU, Josh Freeman comes to mind.

Not that you care, but i am still deciding on Prince too. I think Snyder was obviously a brilliant coach, but by the time he left your program had stalled considerably, so Prince inherited a tough job.

Your last season was such a mixed bag, and I don't know what to attribute that to yet. The Texas win was amazing, but a couple of the stumbles were pretty bad. Is that coaching though? Inexperience? Lack of depth? New system?

There are too many factors to know right now, so Prince deserves more time, IMO.

My thoughts exactly. So I'm guessing you are a Okie State Cowboy. Too logical to be a Husker, on the football board so that throws out ku, on a message board period so that throws out Baylor, not arrogant enough to be a TU fan. You also don't show any signs of devastating disappointment so I wouldn't guess a K-State fan.. I just get a Cowboy vibe, yes?

Most fans seem to like him because he talks pretty.

This makes him so easy to hate.

He comes across as some silk tongued salesman.

Lotta words and promises.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I am a husker fan who went to school in Kansas and worked for one of your boosters/alums. When I went in for that interview I was pretty confident, but then I walked into his office and he had a huge, framed picture of your 1998 victory over Nebraska...my confidence dropped really fast you could say.

I got the job though and enjoyed it. Great boss. He talked a lot of trash, but it was fun. (That was during the Solich years, so I couldn't say much back.)

So anyway, I like your state and your fans.  :beerchug:

There was an article in the Collegian way back in like September I think about how Prince is more of a politician than he is a football coach. I'm starting to realize how right that was...

I am surprised to see some of you so discouraged on Prince. I agree that he comes across as a slick politician at times, but it's kind of early to judge his coaching skills. Coaches deserve at least five years, in my opinion, and that email he wrote makes me think he at least has a plan, maybe more.

In the meantime though, I do think he should tone down his rhetoric a little...people can tell when you are jerking them around and they resent it.

This is just my take.

Don't mind dax.  He's the resident bitter KSU fan.  He hates everything ku, NU, MU, CU, ISU, OU, OSU, A&M, TTU, UT, Baylor, Wichita State, and pretty much any other college not named KSU.

And actually, he hates KSU too.

Dax is just a hater.

This past football season was so up and down I could barely stand to follow it. Prince hired = everyone saying who the F is that guy.
After hearing Prince speak = everyone loving him
Towards the beginning of the season = everyone questioning @#%$ he is doing
After the Illinois State game = a lynch mob is nearly formed to go after him
After FAU, Marshall, and staying in the Louisville game = everyone likes him again
After Baylor game = F Ron Prince
After OSU game = Awesome, Freeman's a God
After NU and Mizzou games = I don't know about this guy
After CU and ISU = We may not get beat by +40 against Texas
After Texas = Holy @#%$ we are Fcking AWESOME!!!!  :ksu: :ksu:
After ku game = I hate Ron Prince
After Rutgers game = This blows, our football program sucks
After recruiting class is finalized = This isn't that bad
After Shorty gets fired = Crumbling foundation that Snyder built
After email = this kind of makes sense

It's good to be good again!
I think the fan base can be divided into three categories on Prince.

Group 1 known as The PKC (Purple Kool-Aid Club), think that Prince is the second coming and can do no wrong.  Of course this group also thought Wooly was always just one bad call or missed free throw away from winning a national championship.

Group 2 known as The CAVE Group (Citizens Against Virtually Everything) think that Prince in the anti-christ and has led KSU back into the dark ages of our program.  This group also believed that we should have fire Snyder after the 6 - 6 season we had in 2000 and that Huggins is on the hot-seat since we didn't win the National Championship this year.

Group 3 known as TRF (The Rational Fans) are pretty undecided about Prince.  They see the slick salesman side and are wondering if he really has anything to back it up.  They see he took KSU to a bowl game for the first time in 2 years.  They see that KSU lost to ku and Baylor in the same year.  They see KSU beat Texas.   :D I think the majority of the fanbase is in this category......wait and see how the next couple year play out.

Right now I see more negatives than positives in Prince but some of the negatives could easily be first time head coach mistakes that will get corrected quickly.  I don't really think that fan base will come to any type of consensus until at least the end of year 3.

The day RP was hired I talked to him and we both said what I hope many others said-"Never heard of him...hopefully he can get us back to a bowl game, but we can't completely judge him until atleast year three to four.
