"Potential" seems good.  But I think any label for the kid is unjust.  HE'S ONLY A SOPHOMORE!!  Let the kid prove himself instead of trying to live up to all of our expectations.  Next thing you know he's jumping off a cliff with his motorcycle and lands in rehab, a la "The Program."
