    The very best.
his current contract and get him a new one.

Mine: 8-4 (5-3)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Not until he wins the Big12 championship.

If he goes 10-2 and wins the North, then they should amend his contract with a pay raise, but no contract extension.

I think that would warrant an extension with a small raise.  It's amazing how much difference one or two wins can make in your perception of football success.

No...he gets a Mangino-esque contract for that.

Honestly, It would probably depend entirely on the losses,  8-4 sounds good to me, unless our losses come from Baylor, CU, ku, and ISU/OSU (Whichever is worse)...

I think he already has incentives for that.

He should win the conference first before a contract extension.  That means he's equaled Snyder's achievements.

But that would mean we beat Texas (road) and Nebraska (road).  I would trade losses to two of BU, CU, ku, ISU, and OSU for those two wins.

Okay, Would you be happy with 8-4 if our losses came to Nebraska, ku, Texas, Baylor?   And Auburn and Fresno are horrible this year?

Regardless, it's all hypethetical...   But the losses we had would play a factor for me.

I'd be happy with 8-4 no matter what.

If he wins 8 games this year he deserves some more money.  Don't give him a big extension until he wins the North, if he can't win the north in 5 years, might be time to look for someone else.

    Fear the Brick
at Auburn  (L)
SAN JOSE STATE  (W)
MISSOURI STATE  (W)
at Texas (L)
KANSAS (W)
COLORADO  (W)
at Oklahoma State  (W)
BAYLOR (W)
at Iowa State (W)
at Nebraska (L)
MISSOURI  (W)
at Fresno State (L)

...going 8-4 would probably mean that the above results played out.  Maybe switch the OSU and Fresno results.  Would giving him a contract extension be giving him credit for winning the games he "should" win?

8-4 is realistic and I'd be very pleased.  I'm hopeful we can replicate 7-5 and win a bowl game.

To tear up the contract and redo?  Probably double digit wins including the bowl game.

Yeah.  8 wins doesn't seem like much, but looking at our schedule this upcoming year it'd be a damn good job.  Payraise if he gets it.

If he gets anything above, holy crap.

If he gets 7 wins, wash.  6 wins is underachieving but not worthy of firing him.  5 or below is "RIP K-state football."

The difference I see is that I think we win @Fresno but lose @OSU.

How many years would be left on his contract?  If there's only 2 or 3 years, I'm totally fine with giving an extension to a coach who's winning the games he "should", as long as he "should" win 8+.

He'll have three years left after this season.

Mizzou is another potential loss but we are lucky to get them at home. Something tells me that OSU will be a very tough game, especially since it is in Stillwater.

Auburn is horrible this year

That's an "I'm on crack!" statement.

I think they're expected to start the season as a top 5 team?

Sorry, I was trying to imply that as a hypothetical situation.... what I should have wrote was...  "What if Auburn and Fresno...."  Like what if we beat them, but then end up going 6-6...    Is it really that big of an accomplishment?  As far as pre-season rankings... when was the last time Auburn wasn't over-rated.  With Auburn they could just as easily end up in the top ten then they could lose 7 games.

I wouldn't call them horrible by any means.  Their offense isn't anything to write home about, but their D is very good.  IMO, it would take a "Texas-like" game by the cats to pull out a win.  Hope to make a few big plays on offense (cause they come few and far between)  play very solid, if not specatcular D, and get great field position out of your special teams.

we should go 8-4 9-3 this year, if we go 10-2 and win the north with the OOC shedual we have it would be very much like 2002, and prince would deserve a pay raise

8-4 would be great for next season...with a monster of an opener at Jordan-Hare Stadium, plus road games at Texas, Nebraska and Fresno. Still, I think he should only get a substantial raise/contract extension if we can earn a big road win and win 9 or 10 games this year and get us back in the national picture.
