    The very best.
QB: I expect Freeman to be the best QB in the big 12 at seasons end. All the offseason reports I've heard have Freeman still growing (!) and now at a ripped 260. Don't expect those silly mistakes this year. QB depth should be better than last year as Carson Coffman, while young is much more talented than Meier ever could have been.
Position Grade: UPGRADE

RB: Clayton was a cancer and word around Vanier is the underclassmen RB's were held behind because of him. Now with Clayton gone, practice is much more fresh and energized and everyone is competing in a spirited but friendly way. I hear these guys are really close, Patton and Johnson eat lunch together every third monday of the third month of each third year.
Position Grade: UPGRADE

OL: Prince is an OL genious coach as witnessed by the dominant Running teams he had at Virginia Tech, so now with a year into his type of schemes, word around Vanier is this is the most dominant offense line in Kansas State history. While the Snyder O-lines were very good, they weren't cohesive. Those guys played to simply get into the pros. Our guys this year go to the rec every friday night to bond. They are just really close. The only real loss we have from last year is Wafford, but his replacement is faster, stronger but a little less experienced. By the time Missouri State rolls into BSFS, he should surprise anything Wafford ever did.
Position Grade: UPGRADE

DL: Word around campus is Campbell is still pissed by how the season ended and has been practicing non-stop to kick ass in 2007. Nuff said. Rob Jackson is a Darren Howard in the making. I have a source close to Mo Lattimore and he confirms this. At DT, sure we lost Echols, but word around Vanier is that Abana has blown away the coaches and is faster, stronger, and more skilled than Echols ever was.
Position Grade: UPGRADE

LB: Archer, while a nice player was never big time. Chris Patterson is a freak of nature and should be playing in the pros today. Nuff said. Word around BSFS is that Archer found himself to be "above" the rest of the team and was hardly a team player. Patterson is the exact opposite...with the talent. Yes, I said it. Word is Houlik is just as fast as Teddy Lehmen, and only needs a few games under his belt to dominate.
Position Grade: UPGRADE

DBs: As much as I loved Kyle Williams, he was a liability in pass coverage. Thank God we stole Chandler from the top schools because he is the real deal and won't allow those ridiculous pass plays Williams always gave up. Word around Vanier is that Watts is now 100% and murdering people in practice. Excited yet? With all the CB's coming back, the coaches are confident we can play dime and cover the opponents 4th receiver just as well as we could cover their #1 target..
Position Grade: UPGRADE

Don't know about you guys, but I can't wait!

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Great post.  One slight correction:  Echols was a DE.

Prince coached OL at Virginia Commonwealth... or was it Virginia Union?  Upon seeing Wafford while walking up to Bramlage during the ku game, I can see why they needed a sun dial to time him during the conditioning test last August.  He was like that granny who drives in the left hand lane of I-70 through Topeka holding up traffic.

Gotta be a GPC origional post

Freeman will be better than last year provided he gets some time to throw and still has multiple recievers running routes rather than 1 wr routes and 9 guys within 5 yds of the LOS while freeman still has to scramble as seen at times last year.

WR I don't see how they could be that much better than last year, hopefully jordy stays healthy and Pierce is the real deal.  I don't expect much of a Lamark impact til the second half of the season.  Hopefully Mastrud has gotten faster and norwood has learned the offense.

RB should be very solid, with patton and johnson.

OL who the hell knows, we're screwed if the JUCO's are busts.

Defensively our secondary should be bad ass, everyone but chandler has multiple years of starting.

LB's Patterson is an upgrade on paper, walker has a year of starts under his belt and has the size and athleticism but if he doesn't make an impact I'd have to seriously question his work ethic.  Not alot of size here so hopefully the speed and athleticism overcomes that.

Dline, huge questionmark, should have a good pass rush but run stopping is going to be an issue with the lack of size.

Dude, it's a major issue.  They can totally park in that church lot accross from the practice fields.  I've seen them there with binoculars before.

Yeah, that breakdown is all fine and dandy, but why no answers to the tough questions?  Did Ron really shave his Goatee?

What about the speculation from inside.kstatesports.com that we will be starting a team of Josh Freeman's next year?
