Sad, isn't it?  Thank you, Huggins, for neither settling for mediocrity nor believing fans should do the same.

There are not teams in the NIT on the level of Rutgers.

^^ true Rutgers was essentially a BCS team that slipped, and we were overmatched in every area.

Hopefully more than Yamon Figurs shows up for the Vermont game

I couldn't disagree more.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Mmk.   There's some pretty good teams in the NIT, but we couldn't possibly lose to them because we don't ever lose games we shouldn't.

Both teams got (or roughly got) what they deserved in the post-season based on what they did in the regular season.  The basketball team was much better than the football team in the regular season.  The truth sometimes hurts.  And Prince has you brainwashed.

Dude, you never supported me with those legendary **do stars matter** arguments we had during the offseason.

Why should I jump on your Prince blows bandwagon?

Did you and stunner really need help with that?  For whatever reason, I do like to bash on Prince at every opportunity.  It's fun.  But this isn't really about him.  It's about our fans who were happy with the Texas Bowl but not okay with the NIT.  That's just crazy.

God, more awesome times.  This off-season better be at least half as good, or else I'll have to get a job.  In the real world  :yuck:.

the nit is far, far better than some idiotic second (third?, fourth?) tier bowl.  i donīt see how there can even be a comparison.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

It's all about a misguided perception of both the current and former status and accomplishments of our beloved football team.

Very nicely put. I love Huggins' attitude - why be happy with anything sub par. Mediocraty is for Wooly era teams. I am done with that attitude.

They both mean exactly the same....NOTHING.

At least Basketball has an event in the postseason that is meaningful, unlike it's counterpart which only has exhibitions.

Hell no. We got picked last out of 8 big 12 teams but should've gotten 6th or 7th.

And this whole thread about bball and football = apples vs oranges

Nope. Ironically, I even created a thread titled "Not happy with the Texas Bowl" (verbatim) immediately following the selection.
