ku: 6-2 (.750) vs South, 11-0 (1.000) vs North*
KSU: 4-3 (.571) vs South, 7-4 (.636) vs North (3 losses to #1 seed)*
TT: 5-5 (.500) vs South, 4-3 (.571) vs North*

One deserves a #1 seed.
One gets left out completely.
One gets an at-large based on "tougher division".

*Includes Big 12 tournament

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

If any of the people in that committee room had a sense to actually look at the performances of the two divisions instead of just going by perception, it might have been a different story.

TTech won 5 south games.
KSU won 4 south games.

I don't know if the committee has publicly admitted it but they get a major hard-on over "big" wins. Tech beat ku once and A&M twice. If you guys had lost to Missouri twice but instead had swept ku you would have been in, and I honestly don't think you would have even been on the bubble.

I for once agree with you.

If you prove you can get a few fluke wins against really good teams and lose a number of games to bad teams you are automatically better than a team who down the stretch won almost every game they were expected to. :yuck:   :frown: :blindfold:

On paper K-state and Texas Tech are the same team when you break it down by RPI/strength/whatever you want to use.

Yeah, you beat Texas Tech, but you lose to the same teams you're pissing and moaning about them beating.

A 9-7 versus a 10-6 aren't that much different.

Did you get screwed? Yes. Did you get screwed by TTech? No.  You got screwed by people over-estimating conferences like the A-10, CAA, etc. in lieu of recognizing a team from the Big 12 plays real competition every game in their conference. WELLLLLLLLLLL, unless we're speaking about Colorado. God, they're pitiful.

There wouldn't be a thread comparing KSU and TTech or fans complaining about TTech screwing KSU were it not for the committee chair's explanation of why TTech got in and KSU didn't.  So in that context:

ku: 6-2 (.750) vs South, 11-0 (1.000) vs North*
KSU: 4-3 (.571) vs South, 7-4 (.636) vs North (3 losses to #1 seed)*

Again, I think it behooves the entire conference to look good. Did I giggle that K-state didn't get in, yes, do I think it's right. No, it is unfortunate. Just for the same reasons you have, but I have a different context. A team like Florida is surprisingly the overall number 1 team, and the Hawks are relegated to UCLA's town to play a road game?

People sell short the Big 12 conference. I would have loved to see a K-state in there because you guys create match-up problems for almost any team. Huggins knows defense, and that is problematic for many teams. I don't think there is a single team that K-state can't honestly beat out there in that pool of 65 or in the top 25.

It is crap, but you can't think Tech did this to you because Bob Knight is the first person to call bullcrap when he sees it.

But comparing Tech and KSU is the easiest comparison to make because we basically played the same schedule. We outlasted them in the regular season (4th place vs 5th place) and outlasted them in the postseason (advancing to the semis)

We're all aware Tech didn't "do this" to us.  The committee "did this" to us using a flawed theory that Tech and other schools play a much tougher conference schedule than us.

I agree, but Bob Knight lobbied for you just as Huggins lobbied for Bob Knight. It just sucks, and the issue isn't right.

Just like a team that wins its conference wasn't even guaranteed a right to play in the pool of 64 when it won its conference (Niagara), just like a team that has been the #1 team in the country wasn't made the overall #1 (Ohio State) - lots of crapty things happened.

If you should be angry at any teams - get mad at the SEC and the ACC.

Amazing that the ACC got as many teams as it did. I threw up and then died a little when I heard Billy Packard licking his chops.

the biggest difference between the north and south is that colorado is worse than baylor, and only one a single game versus the south.

you can put ou, osu, nu, isu in a toilet and they'll all flush the same.
