Nope Jim.

KSU is the other.

10 conference wins. 1 tourney win. 2nd best Big XII road conference record.....and denied for Arkansas.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Starting to realize that I'm just a homer and that is the only reason that I feel we got shafted.

Yep.  I'm realizing that, too.  Syracuse, Drexel, and FSU all have bigger gripes than we do.

It seems to change based on who they are talking to.

I think it changes based on who they're talking about.

Yeah, the selection process isn't all that bad.  They left ouy a team that has won a title in the last 5 years and from one of the biggest media markets in the country.  Conspiracy theories are dumb.  And at best they left out a team or two that might have made a run to the Sweet 16.  It not like they are denying a national champion.

The difference with Syracuse is the non-con.

They stayed at home for the whole thing.  While that apparently didn't hurt ku, I think the committee is right to punish teams that sit back and play every single game at home until the conference season rolls around.

Seriously, "won only one game against the stronger South Division", all of the people who keep saying we only had one RPI top 50 win..... did any of these fools actually bother to research the things we DID accomplish this year? It's almost like our name came up in the discussion, the chairman asked what everyone new about us, the members all shrugged, and they decided to move on.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I can handle not making it, I really can. I'm not completely convinced we deserved it, we played some very sh*tty ball at times. Just please, when someone asks, "why not K-State", have a sound, fact-based argument ready instead of making something up on the spot. Or at the very least be a little more creative and entertaining....... "KSU? I don't think they even play basketball."......"KSU? They got all of their wins against the Big 12 north, and we all know teams like Colorado, NU, and Mizzou are made up of a bunch of monkeys."...."no, I'm sorry. I'm not the committee chair. I'm...ahh...the...ahhh...janitor here. Yeah, that's right, I clean the crappers. I think the chairman just went out that door over there."

Oh well. As a wise man once said....."F*ck it Dude. Let's go bowling."

I competely understand and agree with this point.  On the other hand, try putting this much consideration into 300+ teams out there.  Even with 50 people on the committee you wouldn't get done picking a bracket until June.  If we take that much research to consider, then we probably don't belong.

You mean like they did with Purdue?

I guess they deserve credit for playing #139 Indiana State on the road (and losing).

Fun Facts:

Purdue was 2-8 on the road.  They beat #177 Northwestern and #199 Penn State.

They lost to #96 Iowa, #139 Indiana State, and #190 Minnesota.

Their top 50 wins were Illinois, Michigan State, and Indiana (all at home).

It's ludicrous that they're in (as a freaking 9 seed no less) over Syracuse.

Yeah, Syracuse got really hosed.  We may have gotten hosed a little bit.  And Syracuse being left out blows most silly conspiracies out of the water.  You just never know what to expect from the committee, and this year seems worse than most.

Actually, that would make 7.  Keep in mind that they're a 16 team league.

Hey... bitty ball coach... its what he didn't do, not what he did do... get it straight.  Are you saying that you support the Weiser vagina (Catchy nickname, I hope it sticks) in not defending our honor?  Hell, skip the coaching stint and go straight for athletic administration, It sounds like you're cut out for it you weaselly little turd.  :D

I think they could certainly decide some criteria for making the tourney.  For instance, in football, they could just take the six big BCS conference champs, then add two at large teams.  Then give them an 8 team playoff.  Don't win your conference championship, don't make the NCAA football playoff.  In basketball, it would be somewhat harder.  How about a few criteria, though.  1. Win at least half your conference games 2. Finish in the top half of your conference 3. Use a blended poll (kind of like the BCS computer poll combo) and place within the top 50 teams that don't have automatic berths.  Then prioritize the remaining criteria, or put together a blended formula based on strength of schedule, road record, 2nd half of season performance, etc.  Again, that would help to define candidates and give the committee more guidance, as well as better explanations.

Why do you only show up when something bad happens to the basketball team?
