http://www.journalstar.com/articles/2006/03/25/huskerextra/doc442225bb2c956824737995.txtWith operating costs still rising and NU coming off a Alamo Bowl victory in 2005, a season ticket to Nebraska’s seven home football games will cost $336 this season, up nearly 7 percent.
The breakdown:
-- Season-ticket holders will pay an average of $48 a game this season, up $3 over last year. NU faculty and staff will pay $45 a game, also a $3 increase. Student tickets are unchanged at $21 a game.
-- Before figuring in donations required to reserve some seats at Memorial Stadium, the 6,500 seats added as part of the ongoing expansion project will generate $2,184,000 in ticket revenue for the athletic department next season.
-- Season-ticket prices at other schools based on a random Web search: Vanderbilt, $80-$140 (six games); Baylor, $165-$225 (seven); Colorado State, $199 (six); South Carolina, $280 (seven); Tennessee, $296 (seven) and Texas A&M, $220-$445 (seven).
-- Season-ticket prices at NU are up nearly 7 percent over 2005, but over the last five years, prices have risen less than 10 percent. The average ticket price in 2002 was $43.75.
-- Single-game tickets for NU home games in 2006 are $55 for nonconference games, $60 for games with Kansas and Missouri and $65 for games with Texas and Colorado.
