Do you think Prince is still around then?

I don't.  I think he'll either flop and get fired before then, or do really well and go to another school that will pay him a hell of a lot more than we will.

Don't care.  He won't ever do well enough to go to another school.  He might get fired, though.

I give him three more years tops then the next coach can come in and clean up the mess and not have to follow a legend and be successfull but I've been wrong, once, before

Geezus . . . the guy has a winning season, and finishes at .500 in his first season, after inheriting a depleted talent pool left behind by a burntout 65 year old head coach and a program that had two consecutive losing seasons prior, and all you are is doom and gloom.

Plus, as I always say, thank god most of your weren't around and we didn't have forums like this back in the mid 90's when KSU was landing QB's like Brian Kavenaugh, and about to start a Texas A&M reject, and prior to that needed a transfer from Cal State We Dropped Football throwing passes to receivers that combined had 1 D1 offer between them.

Who said anything about doom and gloom?  I gave him just as much possibility of being highly succesful.  I just don't think he'll be here in four years in either scenario.

He may not be, but I just can't believe what a bunch of pissants we've got as fans who freakout over the slightest little thing, or start bitching and moaning about recruiting as if KSU has always signed 4 and 5 star guys across the board until Prince got here.

I personally think the football program has a lot of potential, but I also think you can forget about 11 win seasons, because KSU isn't going to load up on 3 or 4 cupcakes every year, and the Big 12 has collectively gotten too powerful, and everybody either is, or is trying to "load for bear" in Football.

I just don't see him being good enough to go to a Michigan or Florida or Ohio State or LSU.

Is that really "doom and gloom"?

Disagree.

The Big XII, especially the north, is weaker than it ever has been.  Think back to 95-05.  We've had four national champions in that era.(NU 95, 97, OU 00, UT 05)  Quite a few ranked teams, and highly ranked at that.  We also had two other teams that played in the national championship and lost. (Nebraska 01, OU 03.)

This last year we finished without a single north team ranked, our league champion getting beat by a midmajor in Boise State, and our 'best' team in Texas struggling to win a game against an absolutely horrible Iowa squad.

Add to the fact that there's an extra game on the schedule, and it's disgusting.  It's not that the Big XII is much better, it's that the Big XII is that much worse.  Has ku improved?  No.  Everyone has dropped down to their level.  Don't believe me?  Look at the rankings in comparison to the last 2/3 years and then the last 10 years before that.

It's disgusting.  If we had ANY of our squads from 95-03, they finish with 10+ wins and likely a Big XII title.  (Maybe not the 2001 squad..)  I hate the fact that no north team can expect 10 or more wins anymore, even after they've ADDED an additional game, and the fact that there's an additional championship game for the north title winner.

I hope you're right.

We, as a conference, have to climb out of the basement.  We should leave teams like Baylor, ku, and ISU there.  Having a few bottom dwellers can help from time to time.

The big boys have to step up the scheduling.  Texas, OU, A&M, NU, CU, KSU(the only teams to every win the Big XII, or even play in the CCG), and I guess OSU need to schedule at least one good team in the noncon.  I only include OSU because Pickens seems hell bent on providing them with the best facilities in the Big XII, so it's inevitable that they'll eventually get good recruits and a good team.

Either way.  (Sidenote, when I was typing this I realized that the schools who traditionally have horrible football teams usually have some good basketball teams.  IE: ku, ISU, OSU.  Except Baylor.  They're horrible at everything.)

  was this part of an original deal?  if so why?  recruiting?  probably won't be on tv so thats a bad game.

also, not surprising the big 12 as a whole is down...thats what happens when you pool all of your resources into promoting texas and ou and making sure they are always on tv....forgeting what should be a "your only as strong as your weakest member" philosophy.
