34 at large bids and it looks like 25 at large bids appear to be safe and taken (25 at large + 8 conf champs).......

Big East (6) -- Gtown, Pitt, L'ville, Notre Dame, Marquette, Nova
ACC (6) -- UNC, Virg, Maryland, V Tech, Duke, BC
Pac 10 (5) -- Ucla, Wash St, USC, AZ, Oregon
Big 12 (4) -- ku, aTm, Texas, T Tech
SEC (4) -- Fla, Tenn, uk, Vandy
Big 10 (3) -- Ohio St, Wisc, Indiana
Mt West (3) -- Unlv, Byu, AF
Mo Valley (2) -- SIU, Creighton

So that leaves 9 spots still open.  Here is the 9 BUBBLE teams I have in .......

1. Mich St  21-10/8-8, RPI 21, 6 top 50 wins ........... Looking very good to be in the dance.  Need to avoid a loss to 2-14 N'western and they are safe

2. Ga Tech 20-10/8-8 RPI 34, 8 top50  wins, only 1 road win ........... Looking very good to be in the dance.  Need to avoid a loss vs 11 seed NC ST in ACC tourney

3. Syracuse 21-9/10-6, RPI 50, 3 top 50 wins, won 6 of 8........... 1 win (over 12 seed UConn) in the B East tourney and they are in

4. Stanford 18-11/10-8 RPI 58, 5 top 50 wins, 5-6 road, lost 6 of 10 .........  A win vs USC in P10 tourney and they are in.  A loss and the bubble looms large

5. Mo St 21-10/12-6, RPI 38, 3 top 50 wins........... With that win over the pathetic Shockers, they should be in

6. K-State 21-10/ 10-6, RPI 59, good wins over UT and USC, 8 wins away from home (6-7 on road).........  a win over T Tech and they will get in.  A loss  and they will have to hope some other bubble teams struggle

7. Illinois 21-10/ 9-7, RPI 36, 3 top wins, 3-6 on road .............. a loss to Penn St in the B10 tourney would almost kill off their chances. A win and their chances are pretty decent

8. Old Dominion 24-8, 15-3, RPI 34 , 3 top 50 wins (including win at Gtown).......... loss to G Mason in semis is a blow, but i still think they squeak in

9. Purdue 20-10. 9-7, RPI 47, 4 top 50 wins, 2-8 on road .......... a loss to Iowa and they would really be hurting, hoping some bubble teams tank.

Last 4 out.................

1. W Virginia 20-8, 9-7, RPI 56, 2 top 50 wins, best road win is  Seton Hall (148 RPI)........... they need at least 1 win and it might take 2 in B East tourney

2. Florida St 19-11/7-9, RPI 45, 4 top 50 wins, lost 5 of 7.......... must beat Clemson or they have no shot

3. Drexel 22-8/13-5, RPI 46, good road wins vs Cuse, Nova and Creighton, finished in 4th place in Colonial.......... their loss to VCU in semis cost them a bid.  They were 0-4 vs top 2 Colonial teams (VCU and ODU)

4. UMass 23-7/13-3, RPI 55, 1 top 50 win, won 9 of 10, SOS only 133 ............ need to at least make finals of A10 tourney to have a shot for an at large

I think both MoSt. and ODU are on the NIT side of the bubble.  Either way...If KSU takes care of Biz on Friday, it's a done deal.  Maybe already done anyway with these recent falloffs by "contenders".

Mo St had a huge win over Wisc. early in the year.  Plus they finished 3rd in the 5th rated conf.  That is why i think they get in

ODU is 50/50.  They had won 12 in a row before losing today.  That had a big win at G'town early this year, but that is there only win over a team that will get an at large bid.  Other 2 top 50 wins were over Drexel.   VCU just better take care of business and beat G Mason tommorrow night.
