kudos to Yay and Dave.  Especially for Cartier to win the inaugural 6th man award.  I agree, Akeem should have been included in the defensive awards.
" and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me," Carl Spackler

Who does Walker replace on this list if he had been healthy all season?

Akeem just doesn't hand check enough.

Is this voted by the media or the coaches?

The official All-Big 12 awards are selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Wow...it's not even close.

Rush is streaky...and when he's on, he's damned good.  Just not very consistent.

Augustin has better numbers than Rush in every category except for blocks and rebounding.  :jerkoff:

I didnt realize the disparity in their stats. Defensively I think Rush might be a hair better, but thats the perception since he is going to be guarding wings who are typically better scorers than pgs who augustine has guarded all year.

The only category Rush has over Augustin is rebounds and blocks.

Defense is important, and so is the fact that ku won the Big 12 Championship.  The most talented team in the conference should at least have one guy on the 1st-team All Big 12.  If Rush played for a team like Texas Tech, he'd probably average around 20 points per game.  With ku, there's a different guy that can step up and lead the team in scoring on any given night.

Congrats to Cartier and Hoskins for making 2nd team All-Big 12, by the way.  I have a lot of respect for the way Cartier approached coming off of the bench this season.  Good luck in the Big 12 Tournament.  I would like to see K-State make the Big Dance.

I realize my basketball IQ is like basement-low but I gotta ask, why do they have 6 people on the 1st team?  Did the Aggies patent the 6th Man tradition too?

I agree.  Since ku won the conference regular season why isn't the whole team ku players?  They proved they were the best on the court!  What gives?!

If you had to choose between Rush and Augustin to fill one of your guard spots, who would you go with?

I'd take Augustin hands down.
