But, I enjoyed his article this morning...especially this part...

Quote
A moment after he finished talking, Huggins ran into senior Lance Harris and hugged him. Huggins then whispered a question into his ear, a question that was something like: “Are you ready for spring break?” Harris looked at him as if he were crazy.

“I asked you a question,” Huggins said.

“No sir,” Harris said. “I don’t even know when spring break is.”

“OK then,” Huggins said. “Then let’s just keep on playing.”

You can't be racist and like basketball.
He's an overly dramatic writer.  Sucking up to Huggins a couple times a year doesn't make him good.

Agree, J-Mart.

Posnanski gave us his take on KSU in the NCAA's, what are your thoughts now?

I wish he would quit trying to win the Pulitzer with every story he writes.  He could write a column on piece of fruit and try to interject some "hallmark card moment" into it.  I agree with Rusty.

You thought he tried to win a Pulitzer with that piece? That's how he writes. It was fine...

I think they're in. I think beating Tech assures they're in, but I believe the Cats are in already.

IF I knew how to read I would offer my opinion on Joe's ability to write a good piece, if.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Joe is a great writer.  The only time I don't read his column is if the topic is completely uninteresting to me, such as the Winter Olympics or Buck O'Neil.  He has lots of good stuff on the Royals, Chiefs, MU, KSU, ku, and the NFL in general.

Yeah, he was a great man, and I understand lots of people are interested in him getting into the hall of fame and all, which I agree with, but I just don't find it entertaining to me personally to examine the subject at length.

You know how on Sportscenter when they do a piece by Chris Connelley (?, same dude who was the "MTV Movies" guy last decade), it's gonna be a 6-minute tear jerker deal with autistic kids making 3's or kids in wheelchairs playing football or some other human interest story that happens to peripherally involve a ball somehow?

Posnanski reminds me of him to an extent.  Not that he isn't good at writing the story.

I am gonna hold you to that JMART, don't break my heart, please.

Joe is good, I don't mind is stuff.  Today was good, he could have had the greatness of Durant too or ku winning another Big 12 title, but he went with something different...and better

I don't like the "Extreme Home Make Over" drama in his columns.  I generally think most columnist suck; beat writers are ten times better.

rusty, your taste in media figures is horrible.  lutz is ok, pretty much everyone else you've ever listed as liking is unlistenable or unwatchable.

I just don't dislike many.  Posnaski is one of the few.  I don't like Rick Reilly, either.

Poz is pretty good.  That piece in particular was pretty good.  They've got Whitlock to stir things up, Poz does something different.  And usually he does a pretty good job with it.

Posnaski actually has a history with Huggins, he was a writer for a while in Cincinatti, said earlier in the year in one of his columns that Huggins always gave him a hard time.
