    The very best.
Maybe it's the fact they handled us at home.

I feel awful about this game. How do they look vs Tech?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

We shot 30%.  1st game without Bill.  Cartier wasn't playing the way he is now.

My initial thought; we win our "play-in game" with Tech by 5.

I'm in the same boat...kinda.  They scare me because they have 2 guys capable of going off any given night. They also have the all time winningest coach...ever. He is one of the best defensive minds...ever.  Fortunately he will have to prepare for a CU game ( :jerkoff:) then a KSU team that is very different than when they met the first time.
On the bright side, we're playin with a lot of confidence right now, it will be on a neutral floor, and Akheem has played pretty well the last two games, hopefully he will be able to cancel out Jackson, and with the kind of D Cartier and Dave have been playin, that kinda takes zeno out as well.
Tough matchup all the way around IMO

Fatty-I it's my BW caused that one excuse.  Actually, that game at in Manhattan was the flattest and least aggressive our guys looked in conference play...and it lasted into the Baylor game until we pulled our heads out late in that one.  I would love to see our guys get another shot at Tech with this much on the line.

I'm not really afraid of them, watching them play ISU right now.  They're a quality team, sure, but we also played like absolute crap last time we played them.  I think we're a much improved team since then.

Knight is 7-1 vs KSU.
And when I'm at the game, he's 0-1.

knight is 7-0 vs. wooly.

only 1-0 vs. huggy.

Not that it matters, but I know he lost at least once to KSU under JW...it was a 68-44 beatdown where RMK got his first Technical as Tech's coach.

Gilson DeJesus was on FIRE that night.

Also was the first night I owned my current season tickets (due to an odd set of circumstances)

Fats, I understand where you're coming from, but if our guys play even "decent" they should beat Tech.  They played like ASS against Tech in Manhattan.

Uh, try 13-1.  He went 7-0 versus K-State while at Indiana, and is 6-1 versus K-State while at Texas Tech.  Needless to say, we are due for a win against Tech.  I will never forget that buzzer beater they put up against us in 2005.  Also, in the series history versus Tech, K-State is down 10-11.  This is our chance to even the score.

The last time KSU played Tech, the team had one day to prepare...had just lost their new "leader" for the season, and was playing their third game in 6 days after travelling quite a few miles...at 9pm at night no less.

I feel pretty comfortable that Huggs has about 5 days to prepare for Tech this time...we'll be rested while they have to go deal with Roby and CO...and as long as we can shoot even decently, the guys will be fine.

Defense wasn't really the problem against them the first time.

IIRC, We gave up about 500 layups in that game which is tough to do when TT only shoots about 40% from the floor.

I was speaking to the easy layups they got out of their offense, more so than the total points.  We did a decent job defending the perimeter, but let them score some easy layups out of their offense.

62 points is 62 points.

That is decent defense.

52 points, 30% FG, 13% 3FG is horrible offense, though.

I get what you're saying Rusty, and maybe it's just selective memory or something, but I do remember Bob Knight's offense completely breaking down our defense in that game.

Our offense was beyond pitiful.

first game we played them was also after like a week layoff, hope this long layoff doesn't have the same effect.

They did not look all that good against ISU.  Can't let zeno kill us again.

Didn't ksu play them on big monday, 1 day after losing a heartbreaker at a&m?  Doesn't seem like a long layoff to me.

Cartier had 6 points.  As I remember, that led many of our fans to write about how much he sucked and how we were going to win 3 or 4 games in the league.  Maybe.  That was Cartier's worst Big 12 game of the year and since he's been in double digits every game.  He's scored at least 17 in his last 7.  And he's coming off the best game of his career.

Harris had 0 points.  Granted, he's been up and down since, but he has scored double digits 5 of the last 6 games.  He's playing much better defense.

Wright was 3 of 12 that night.  Remember Wright was coming off a great game against aTm and suddenly thought he should be a scoring option.  He's learned, and since then he's only had 1 game where he put up double digit attempts.  But despite a bad back, he's still playing solid defense and rebounding which we are really going to need against Jackson.

Hoskins was the only guy with a solid game.  He scored 23, and that was without anyone else really helping out.

Tech won't be able to count on Harris and Martin combining for 6 points and having their worst conference games of the year.  They won't have Wright putting up double digit shots.  They won't have KSU shoot their worst % of the season.  Tech is going to have to score in the upper 60s to beat us.

I'm confident going into this one.  I don't think a worn out Jackson and Zeno can beat us.
