It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I still think there's no way Hughes is going to make it.  I just can't see the guy surviving a Huggins practice.

I have a funny feeling about Cartier.  Not that I think he's gonna necessarily leave, but it just seems like he might have the toughest transition, since he seemed pretty close to Wooly, and he'll be the guy most upstaged by the arrival of any 5-star recruit.

When we hired Bob Huggins, Cartier Martin made millions.  He has to love this hire.  A 5 star recruit on the courth with him, particularly at the 1 or 5, will help Cartier immensely.

i dont think any seniors to be will leave/quit/be forced out.  i dont think any coach would do that to players who have put in the time like that.  nor would i figure any players would up and quit their last year here.

it looked to me like fitz is just guessing.  i hope so anyways.  forcing out seniors would be stupid.  i don't really think the younger players should be jettisoned either, but if someone is forced out, far better it be sophs to be than seniors to be.

Yeah, Fitz is speculating similar to the rest of us.

1 or 2 transfering would mean immediate scholarships to fill.  Players not cutting it might not be until this summer, next fall, or even next season.  He's talking maybe 2 (counting the one we already have) to 3 scholarships open maybe as early as next week, the rest will come later if at all.  That's about what I expect to happen too.

i think one.  yearby or kent.  i don't think huggins is going to be foolish enough to want to sign the entire dregs of the '06 class.  players quitting next year is a different story.

but i also think that angle is overblown too.  wooldridge's practices weren't for lightweights either and the ksu team is not made up of a bunch of ego guys.  if williams could play for huggins at cincy, all of the current cats can play for him.

I agree wholeheartedly, but I'm not sure it's reserved for only D-1...I think it permeates through all sports...I've met and watched plenty of hard asses when it came to the physical side..it's the ones that can make you realize your potential both physically and mentally that make you a champion, no matter the level.

I agree completely WN...  Especially since I know that your college coach was a badass.  Didn't intentionally mean to leave out those unbelievable coaches that never aspired to the bright lights.

I don't doubt that for a second!! Wind sprints simply aren't neccessary if the kids are going full speed and giving their all in every drill.

I'd like to have a $1 for every time I've said that to the kids I work with on a Jr. High team down here.  In fact, as a staff, we come together at the end of each practice and determine how much running we'll have 'em do at the end.  And, they KNOW (because they're constantly reminded) that their effort and attention throughout practice will determine what the end of practice is like.
