Releford has been on the campuses of Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma and Goolsby said the four-star guard would like to see some more.

"He's said he'd like to see Texas, North Carolina and Kansas State," Goolsby said. "Hopefully that can all be worked out."

I wasn't all that impressed when I saw him on TV.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Meh....he should be a fallback plan if we don't land Warren and Shipman, IMO.

Yes, the coaches do want him. And they believe they have a very good shot at him.

Yes, you should want him.  No, you won't get him so you probably shouldn't worry about it too much.

It's good to see that Rusty is already starting the spin though.

Have you talked to Shipman lately?  He would be a solid pickup.

I've seen Relaford play 4 or 5 times this year.  Other than Miege's last game vs. Aquinas, he simply didn't appear to be "all that".  He never looked as impressive as former Miege stars Jamaar Howard (WSU) or Isaac Miles (Creighton).  The biggest difference between Relaford and those two are that TJ is taller.

I never saw a game where he looked like he wanted the ball, or wanted to be the go-to guy.  He didn't "make things happen", but rarely will miss the open looks.

Now, after saying all this, we need to remember that this kid is a junior.  So, he's got some time to mature in the AAU summer league, as well as next season.

BTW...the big kid (6'11") Miege has impressed me more than TJ.  That kid played meaner than Miege's previous big kid who's now playing for Pepperdine....can't remember either ones name.

he's not a flashy player, you aren't going to be in awe of watching him.  he's a good scorer, good defender, great head on his shoulders, will be very good for a long time.  i WANT him at ku bad.

So he's pretty much a shorter Cartier?

You have no shot with Warren.  His leaders are ku and Arkansas.

Hey, who is going to be upset when a player of his caliber chooses to pay his own way to come to your school?  There are many players worse than Conner Teahan that are getting full rides to play college basketball next year.  It's what happens when you've got history and been really good for a long time.  Kids dream of playing at your school.

I would say that someday you'll know what that is like at KSU, but I wouldn't want to lie to you.

Good for you.  Feel free to post pictures of you, Teahan, and maybe TJ walking down Memorial Drive all holding hands.

Teahan, Reed, Aldrich.

Yup..the future is bright for ku.

LOL.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

SATURDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS

Conner Teahan - Even after leading his Rockhurst team to a tough win over a very talented Bishop Miege squad in an electric environment for high school hoops, the 6-4 wing wasn’t satisfied. Upset that he’d missed too many open shots, Teahan thought the game shouldn’t have been so close. Still, with Bob Huggins and two Kansas State assistants looking on, the senior guard made a ton of big plays and nearly took the house down with a big two handed reverse jam after a steal. He finished with 20 points and seven rebounds but perhaps most important was the excellent job he did defending Miege’s star guard Travis Releford.

Like I've said before, not bad for a walk-on.  Teahan looked more impressive than Releford in a lot of their AAU games with KC Pump-n-Run.  The guy is going to be a solid 4-year player who would probably start a school like Wichita State.

What's great is Self will be forced to give the turd a scholarship sometime down the road now with his recruiting going to the crapper.

Does Teahan whine about the refs during his AAU games like he does when playing for The Hawklets?  I actually heard his Dad yell from the top of the stands at the Aquinas Tourney "Conner...SHUT UP".  Every game I've seen him play he's whining to the refs every time they call a foul on him.  He's a hothead.

Players like Romero Osby, Willie Warren, Verdell Jones, Travis Releford, J'Mison Morgan, Clarence Trent, Greg Monroe, Delvon Roe, etc, will take their place.

Bill Self is one of the best recruiters in the nation, and ku has one of the best college basketball programs of all-time.  It doesn't matter what K-States does.  ku isn't going anywhere.  If a down year for ku is signing a McDonald's All-American center, a 4-star point guard (offers from Georgia Tech, Stanford, Oklahoma, K-State, etc), and a walk-on who was a stand-out for the best AAU team in Kansas City, then I'll take it.

Travis Releford, Ray Shipman, Tony Woods, Yancy Gates, Xavier Gibson, Jamychal Green, Kenn Kadji, etc.  I can name a bunch of players too!  Your list isn't very impressive.  Oh yea, btw, DeMarcus Cousins.

Duke has 3 of them, but only one of their recruits is legit.  Aldrich is not a legit McDonald's All-American.  Bill Walker would have made it, and he's definitely legit.

Will investigate.  His update did say he was interested.  I'm not too excited about him.  Would be a great addition to the other stiffs ku is recruiting right now.
