I was going to look that up, too lazy. 

Really shows the effect of having that consistent 3rd scoring threat, especially on a team with no back to the basket post scorer.  We have to have Martin and Hoskins leading the way, but really the last 2 years the consistency of Lance Harris has played a huge role in wins and losses.  Fortunately he improved his defense quite a bit this year, but we needed him to be a 40% 3PT shooter.

Thanks for the info, Rusty.  We not only needed Harris to be a 40% 3 pt shooter, we needed him to slash to the basket more consistently and force the defense to do more than just stand near him.

I'm suprised that lance never developed a move to the basket, with his athleticism and size he'd be a good mismatch for a lot of guards in the league, but he settled to become a jumpshooter.

Harris and Martin aren't much different than Ellis and Hart were in 02/03.  At least Hoskins is consistant and he's the one coming back.

What that stat reinforces is the impact of losing Bill Walker.  Next year, Hoskins, Walker, Beasley should be a nice trio.  Hopefully Beasley will be consistent (although that's asking alot of a freshman not named Durant). All the more reason to get Tyree in purple.  He'd be outstanding coming off the bench similar to Cartier.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that.  And its not completely out of wack at all to think Clent couldn't replace Harris' scoring and be a 10 to 12 PPG guy next year.  He's averaging 8.9 to Lance's 10.2 in Big 12 games this year.  He shoots better overall (43% to 40%) and from 3 (39% to 35%) and has gotten to the FT line more (23-34 to 22-30) playing nearly identical minutes.

Yup, that was a classic "pick your poison" type team for the opposition to deal with.

True, but with Beasley/Hoskins/Walker he's going to have plenty of kick-out opportunities regardless.

The surprising thing is that the thing that might keep Clent on the floor at PG is his defense.  He's improved leaps and bounds this year and if Pullen and Brown want to see the floor how well they can defend will probably play just as big a role as their offense.
