Earlier tonight i watched the 38 sports spot with jack harry and he had coach mangino on to discuss recruiting, scheduling, etc.  Anyways he said he think the sqwaks will go 10 and 2 next year.  There is no way they go 10 and 2 with jim woldri-er i mean mark mangino as their head coach...

crapty recruiting class. They lose Cornish. Nothing will be improved. They will be lucky to be bowl eligible.

Especially since all of the blueprints and project plans have been finalized for the greatest football office in DI football.  There must have been AT LEAST 3 or 4 cranes visible from I-70 on the construction site when traveling to Manhattan from KC for the bball game on Monday...

I posted something about this the other day. Some guy on kusports.com said he really thinks they can get 10. He said it's "realistic". I think they will get 7 next year unless they have a meltdown in ooc.

They get wins over CU and ISU. Then I don't see them winning any South games maybe Baylor, but I doubt it. They have a patsy ooc but I could see them dropping one. I'm thinking six wins is the most they will get. They lose Cornish, the only thing that made them difficult on offense. They bring in a horrible recruiting class.

I also vote that they win 7.

They will sweep OOC.  I think they will beat Baylor at home, beat Iowa State and pull one off between CU/Mizzou
"Kids used to hit him and stab him with pencils," says Harley Bennett, Jason's father. "Finally I told him he had to stick up for himself. Jason is not a violent person. One day he hit one of the kids back and got suspended."

NU and MU should win "home games" against JCCC-Light in 2007.

I don't even think they'll get Colorado, but they will beat Baylor. Their only other conference wins will be ISU and maybe Mizzou. So 6-7 wins i suppose.

Did Baylor lose some key players that I don't know about?? Baylor looked to be improving while ku looks to be losing it..

Do you know what Ron Prince would say to him?

"Will you tell me which games you're planning to lose, coach?  You need to burn your ships and go ashore.  Grrrrrrooooooowwwwww!"

The truly laughable part is that this year they should have beat Toledo, melted down against Baylor, and blew it against Okie Lite...equalling 9 wins.  Mangino has a lot to answer for to his fans, but the ku boards seem more interested in Prince's defense of his first year, than even asking the Fat Man to defend his 5 years of suck.

Baylor lost their qb.

they'll win all 4 of their non cons.  Should beat ISU in the north, but I wouldn't "give" them any others.

they should beat baylor.

I think they could win 8 at the very most.  the big 12 will continue to get better.  Even though ku should be better as well.

I would not say the game in Manhattan is an automatic win for us. Based on the beatdown ku gave us and the fact this is a turbulent and negative period for the KSU program (One would have to admit no matter how purple anyone is, things are not going great for Prince and Company this offseason) any game on the Big 12 schedule can not be viewed as a W just by showing up. The Snyder factor of intimidation for ku is gone and the talent level between the two is even (or maybe in their favor). Mangino vs Prince, suddenly we don't have the x and o edge?

Despite all the moaning from former players and people still attached to the glory days of the Snyder era, the morale among the kids and coaching staff right now is high. That said, the ku game is not a gimme. Especially if the ball is wet since Josh Freeman is incapable of holding on to a wet ball, let alone throwing it accurately.

Seriously ku did not give us a beat down last season. We clearly beat ourselves. Freeman brought his C- game. ku only scored  like 2 offensive tds and the rest were from interceptions and fumbles.

If they don't have 8 wins minimum next year, they're basically an absolutely horrible program.

Going into what, his fifth year now?  Mangino has NEVER had a winning conference record.  He's never even had a TIED conference record.  Using the "well Terry Allen destroyed our football program" excuse doesn't really work this far into a coaches tenure.

He has a nonconference schedule that would make Snyder proud.  Not going 4-0 there = terrible coaching.
Also, he's entering his 6th year and he's never finished with a .500 or better record in conference play, and he's never finished better than 4th in the north.  (And the north is the weak ass division in our conference.)

The hilarious thing is Terry Allen had an extremely similar record to Mangino's right now.

However, being typical squawk fans, they'll get a 6-6 or 7-5 record and call it progress.  They think being bowl eligible with a 12 game schedule and 4 creampuffs means something.

their "improvement" has come solely at the expense of nu, ksu, and cu being so shltty.  When allen was there those 3 were perrenial top 10-25 teams.

I guess I am obsessed with the contributions Coach Snyder made to Kansas State University. Unlike some I appreciate everything he stands for and enjoyed having a family feel to the football program.

A K-State fan wouldn't say this. Nor would a K-State fan have the handle of "Snyderfanatic." A K-State fan's handle would be more like: "Ilovebillsnydereandwanttohavehischildrenandwanttolickthesweatfromhisballs." But that's just for us hardcore Snyder fans.

Seriously though, everyone here loves Bill Snyder. We just aren't blind enough to not recognize the fact that there were more L's than there were W's in 2004 and 2005.
