    IT'S DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!!
Quote
As the second half was just about to begin , Bennett and Luis Colon, who was pulled early in the first half and did not play again, sat next to each other on the bench. First, a few animated words were exchanged. Then, the two exchanged elbows to the ribs.

Before things escalated further, Chris Merriewether stepped in and told Bennett to move over. Merriewether sat between the two.

Is it really any wonder why these two dolts seem to be getting worse as the season goes on?

I saw an interview this morning that ESPN did with Greg Oden.  Not only does the dude look 35, but he comes across as very mature with his attitude, work ethic, and the way he carries himself as a team player.  He appears to be a very unselfish guy who just wants to get better.

Bennett/Colon is the anti-Oden in every way imaginable.  Obviously from a talent standpoint, but that's not what bothers me.  They both bitch and moan every time they're whistled for a foul, the majority of which are usually pretty blatant, and result from their being out of position on defense.  Based on Huggins' comments, Bennett has been giving a half assed effort in practices and now they play grab ass on the bench during games.

I fully expect both of them to foul out of the ku game, combining for 0 points, 1 rebound, 2 blocks, and 10 hissy fits, one following each foul.

Ok, I'm done.  :)

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Let me also add Bennett was nearly 50 blocks this year. He isn't as worthless as Colon and I have no problem dealing with a little immaturity as a freshmen to see the "fruits" when he gets older. Go back and watch the last few minutes of the BU and MU home games. His defense helped us win those.

In huggs; we trust

Joker...I agree.  EVERY DAMN TIME Bennett is called for a foul, his arms come up from his sides posing the question, "what did I do..???"  Take some f'ing ownership for your mistakes and shut the hell up and listen to your coach.  He might have an idea of what he is talking about.

I'm so sick of the attitude problems with these two.  It started off bad with Colon and now Bennett is the "cry-baby".

I agree that Bennett has had his moments.

It's his attitude that bothers me.  It goes beyond the immaturity associated with being a freshman.  When you play 10 minutes in the last three games because you're not getting it done in practice and then proceed to act like a 3-year-old on the bench, it goes way beyond simple immaturity.

It's his attitude, character, and effort.

So, Im assuming you know Bennet personally. What has he shown that says bad character?? Colon is the only one we can maybe question that.

We all know that we have two clumsy, raw and fairly immature big men. I firmly believe that Bennet will be damn good before he leaves KSU. I think that Colon may never reach much but I bet Huggs sees something in him.

Not sure why many people here love to jump on both these guys, maybe some people had way too big expectations.

char·ac·ter      /ˈkærɪktər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kar-ik-ter] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1.   the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing.

The features or traits that I've seen so far that would demonstrate poor character would be:

A lack of effort in practices, as pointed out by Huggs. ie laziness.
He's unaccountable. It's never his fault when he hacks someone because he's out of position on D.
A lack of respect toward coaches.  Usually can be seen bitching at a coach who is trying to correct him on a mistake.
Exhibits childish, disruptive behavior.  Such as playing grab ass on the bench and having to be separated by a teammate.

Again, it's not his game performances that bother me so much.  I didn't expect him to be an all big12 performer.  What does surprise me is the way he carries himself.

It's funny how people like to jump all over Kent, but somehow Bennett is off limits because he's a 5* recruit or some $hit.  If Bennett gave half the effort that Kent did, he'd be a helluva player.  But from what I've seen so far, I'll take hard work over this prima donna bull$hit any day.

JHC...I agree with Joker.  We are just keeping it real.  That doesn't make us bad fans.

For a ku fan, you really care a lot about our players.

And FWIW, Josh Freeman acted like a child every game that he wasn't starting when he was on the sidelines.
