I'm falling in love with my avatar.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Best quote from phog.net yet: "People here are really pumped that he landed at K-State. Last night on the news they contacted OJ Mayo to get his quote on the whole Huggins to KSU. They asked him if he would follow him to K-State. OJ said 'You could say that if he lands there I will be right there with him and Bill Walker.'"

Nope.  Not a chance.

I wonder if Learfiled Communications sales staff is whistling (loudly) as they prepare to call on new and old customers today.

Boys, it's a whole new world.

Only a ku fan would think that a recruit would pick a team based on the color of their uniforms.  God I hate ku!

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Phog.net isn't near as bad as I've seen it at times.

Not sure what all of you are seeing, or at least fantasizing that you're seeing.

Most of the posters on phog seem to believe, and I agree, that Huggins will bring more competition which only helps ku prepare for the tournament and helps the Big 12.

The rest is just the town of Lawrence versus Manhattan crap.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Self vs. Huggins by the numbers:  A ku spin.

I love the fact that ku's coach vs. KSU's coach  is even debatable.

Because Self has been a head coach for 13 seasons I have compared Self's career against Huggins first 13 seasons.

Let's lay it out first:
Self has been at 4 schools(Oral Roberts(4 years), Tulsa(3 years, Illinois(3 years), Kansas(3 years))
Huggins has coached at 3 schools(Walsh(NAIA)(3 years), Akron(5 years), Cincinnati(5 years))

In my opinion Self's job has been more difficult. Self has spent time in the Big 10 and Big 12(with stints in the WAC and Mid-Con). Cincinnati wasnt even in the Big East when Huggins was there. So, I would call the mediocre C-USA Huggins toughest conference.

Huggins coached 402 games in his first 13 seasons compared to 408 games coached by Self. Huggins won 284, Self won 279. Huggins winning percentage was 70.6, Self's is 68.3.

Both coaches had one 30 win season in their first 13 seasons as a head coach. Self's came at Tulsa and Huggins at Walsh.

At Self's most recent two schools he has compiled winning percentages of 76.4 and 75 percent.

Although the numbers side with Huggins in least bit Self's track record is better because of the schools he has coached at. It is much harder to compete and win in the Big 10 and Big 12 than it is in the C-USA or MAC.

Let's be real when ku hired Self they probably could have wooed Huggins into taking the job if they wanted him. Obviously, they saw something in Self that they didnt see in Huggins.

Self>Huggins

He missed the part about Huggins built all his programs.  Self inherited Illinois from Kruger and Williams at ku.

I'm just bewildered at the logic.  Their fear is showing.
