I know that I was.  That's the stadium I remember seeing as a 3-5 year old.

 :banghead:

To be honest though, I don't remember the stadium being even that full.  That must have been an important game..And that's before the north endzone seats and upper deck.

That's what it's going to look like in the next 3-5 years.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I never went to games when we sucked.

I think fatty and I are the only 2 KSU fans on the BB's that didn't.

To be fair, I went, but didn't pay attention to the games.  It was more of a chance for my brother and I to run around and play jungle jim in the (mostly empty) stands.  And to see people jump out of airplanes.

I should also note that the 1980's Willie can scare the crap out of a small child.  This is probably why I still to this day have an ungodly fear of rabies/lint Willie.

I didn't attend a KSU BB or FB game before 1991 or so.  Regular attendee for both since 1993.

I went to:

MU in 93
UT in 98
Alamo Bowl in 98

Then I was a student.

My first BB game in person was Manny Dies' senior night.

    The very best.

Wow. I've pretty much got you owned. My first game was watching Mark Young and seeing my jaw drop.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Not really.  I started during the really really really bad years and first bought season tickets in 99.  I've never experienced a postseason as a season ticket holder.

It's cool, because when we'll be going to final fours and crap, I'll be able to tell little anecdotes about the Asbury/Wooly years, such as Asbury's desperation "I still care" techincal vs. Chris Mihm and UT, seeing Dez go off the court in agony during Bethune-Cookman, and seeing Pervis go for 30 against UNT, when I heard "I STRONGLY DISAGREE" screamed at a ref in a basically silent arena.

It won't be like these lame-ass "I played catch in the bleachers" stories.

&@#% you.  I was like 4.  I didn't understand anything about football other than getting in the endzone was a good thing, and that we hardly ever won.

Sadly, I didn't go to a K-state basketball game until my frosh year at KSU(Massey's senior year.)  My parents wouldn't take me when they went to K-state because they thought the basketball games were way too rowdy for young children.  Yet K-state football games were perfectly fine in comparison.

That statement right there kind of illustrates how much things have changed.

My first games attended were in 2003, in FB and Basketball.  Never had the means to go before then.

Doesn't the PA guy saying 'graduated in '88?'  I'd say it have to be either 89 or 90 because the powercat was on the field soon there after.

I watched it again and looked more closely.  Bramlage was built, and outside of the ku or NU game, the last couple of years of Stan Parrish never had crowds that large.   Plus it looked like the Vanier parking lot had been expanded, so I am thinking that's like 89 or 90 in Snyder's first couple of years.   The new (for back then) turf wasn't installed until '92.

I'm pretty sure it was 1989.

The Woodway Apartments were built in 1990 and I
lived in those for 2 years. And those apts arent
in the picture yet (across from the stadium) if you
watch the video.

You can't call that a football field in that video... more like a painted parking lot.  When I took an unofficial visit for the OSU game in '90 (last year of the old turf), the recruiting coordinator at that time (Tom? Grogan) told us to stay off the "turf" because they were too embarrassed by it and that new turf was on it's way... luckily Dave Wagner won the Powerball!

Had to be '89....the Octagon of Death (to our b-ball program) was up and the old Wildcat was on the field.

Also note the size, or lack thereof, of the band.  Whew, things were really bad then.
