Donnie Duncan . . . wasn't much of a head coach, and nearly bankrupted OU athletics when he was their AD, left a real mess down there, the OU Foundation had to bail out OU athletics to the tune of over $8 million dollars.

Just goes to show that when you can't hack it, become a consultant:

According to Hoax that simply isn't the case.

Plus, if they did that, they're really dumb.   Donnie Duncan let Barry Switzer talk him into hiring John "Banana Cream Pie" Blake at OU.

this seems really weird to me, but I know nothing of the inner working of a football program.  Is this "normal", or even abbynormal?  Do they not have a director of football operations?  need more info here

I've seen schools bring in people to be special liasons, like for recruiting such as KSU has done in bringing in a Junior College liason.   I've seen schools hire consultants to hire new coaches.

I've never seen a school bring in a  consultant for the football program though.  I mean hell, it's not like Mark Mangino hasn't been anywhere.
