We shot 41 FTs!  Tell me the last time that happened in Lawrence.  Yeah, there were some questionable calls, but that went both ways.  In fact, the only thing we did well was attacking the basket, especially Maybank and Martin (in the 2nd half) and we got calls.  If we would've done that earlier in the game, we might not have gotten burried.

Face it, we've got to get over this "the refs are against" us mentality, more often than not our style (aggressiveness) has helped us here.  Last night ku was the aggressor and they got the benefit of the doubt b/c of it.  I have no problem with that, that's modern college basketball.  Seriously, shooting 41 FTs we have no case to complain about officiating last night.

35 of the FT's = make up calls. pity calls.

I thought there was a couple obvious charges that didnt go our way when we were set for about a second before contact.  There were some that couldve gone either way that went to ku.  The officiating wasn't good but it wasn't all one way.  Every team's fans thinks the refs are against them, i dont think we're any different.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I only really have a problem with two plays:

Hoskins' "travel" and Blake Young getting leveled after he split two defenders, losing the ball, and leading to the Kaun 3 point play.

And honestly, all fouls called on ku were legitimate.

Because they were mauling and slapping the hell out of us in the first half and half of it was called.  It was like they would feel bad about letting it go the last time down the court and call it the next time.  ku's strategy was to get the ball at all costs and not to worry about officiating because they couldn't call all of it.

Wright easily could have had 4 fouls in the first half, there was a blocking call on someone that he absolutely leveled.

Sherron Collins was flying down court and someone got in front of him and he kind of did a half spin move knocking the defender over, that was a no call as well.

they sucked, if they called it all ku would have fouled out 6 guys.

That was the only one where I thought the refs screwed us. Especially, when the foul was called on Kaun immediately following. Sort of ended our only nice run of the game.

Also, there was a block called on someone when JW was out of control and they gave him the benefit of the doubt. Even armstrong mentioned how it should of been a charge, but overall the refs didn't really hurt us. We hurt ourselves.

Add the "block" Cartier had on Wright, and I'm happy.

Seemed like a lot of fouls called on ku were pretty meaningless make up BS calls..

And, they only called about half of them.

But, agreed...it's pretty ridiculous to blame that game on officiating.

When you lose by 27 points, there is really no room to bitch about the officiating.

I thought the officiating was fine.

You shot 41 FT's, and you're still bitching about the officiating?  My God.

There were only two times last night I thought KSU got screwed, the one that really comes to mind is when Young got mauled going down the court.

Other then that, nothing was that big a deal.

I do think the refs could've called several "intentionally being a pussy" fouls on our guys though.

They should a close up of Cartier, and come on, the look on his faced screamed, "I wanna be back on my couch with a big package of Double Stuff Oreos, my X-Box, and my bong."

Agreed.  Huggs got the game we all wanted.  In the bonus with 8+ minutes to play in the 1st half.

Of course, this makes you feel like you're read the phog.net doesn't it?
