OMG, this tool just called us jabronies. Wow. You sir, should be embarrassed.

You willingly wear "Homosexual Purple" and root for a team that does the same. Said team has NEVER won ANYTHING. You sir should be embarrassed.

Dude.. that was a couple season's ago.   What he did(n't) do back then has nothing to do with his prospects today.

Yeah, the fact that he's played well against top quality competition before has nothing to do with his ability to play well against top quality competion in the future.  Do you even think before you type?

Wow.. I could ask you the same thing.   He hasn't played a game in over a year and half and you expect him to step in and just like magic, be better?  You have any empirical evidence to back up such statements?

Against our first year coach at the low point of our season.   Why do Husker fans have to compare their season by the one game they played against KSU?
Rationalize however you want, but that wasn't even a competitive game. We owned you in your own stadium. You were a bug on your windshield. I wouldn't even bring it up except that K-Staters keep dogging on Nebraska, and need to be reminded to know their roles....jabronies.

Classic tapout maneuver.    You cannot defend your own team well, and so you jump on your win over a KSU team at it's low point in the season as it if has any bearing on Keller.  LOL!

ASU lost on a last minute drive by LSU.  He's not a big time QB if he can't win against superior competition.

The fact that Arizona State is even keeping it close against a team like LSU is a testament to Keller's abilities. Keep on spinning.

ASU kept it close because LSU was just involved in hurricane Katrina not a couple of weeks before.  Yet, you were telling us how ASU was clearly outmatched. How is it that you can be so out of reality?   Oh wait.. I forgot. you're a Husker fan.

Sad.  The deflections from the point that Keller hasn't won anything either, but to NU fans, he's a big time Top Pro Prospect* that is just going to lead a much improved NU team.

Taylor was good. Keller is better. Pro scouts rate him as one of the top QBs from his class. They know more than you do. Nebraska's players and coaches think the guy's going to have a great year. They know more than you do. You can watch the tapes and see his ability. He'll be a far better QB than Josh Freeman.

Pro scouts from two years ago.  That's irrelevant because he has not lived up to his hype.  I don't see anything about him getting drafted because he's got a problem with being injured, and has yet to play a full year.   Again, it's like hanging onto your successes in the 1990's as if it has any bearing on today.  You really do suck at this.

And all you can manage is point back to a trophy case you haven't put anything into for a decade.

No offense there bud, but at least we have a reason to own a trophy case in the first place. When's the last time K-State won a National Championship in anything, much less a major sport....?

Not relevant to the discussion.  Clearly, when it comes to football facts and knowledge, hiding behind a trophy from a coaching legend long gone from the program with no return in sight makes you look like an assclown.   This has nothing to do with KSU's success or not.. it has everything to do with you defending Keller and his abilities you can't even do that without resorting to these three things:

1.  Keller is a top pro prospect (based on reports years ago before he was injured and hasn't played in over a year and a half)

2.  Keller does really well in practice against our (#79 rated) defense.

3.  Keller is so much better than your freshman QB (who managed to beat Texas when your OPOY couldn't, or for that matter any team in the Top 20.)

Your opinion of Keller is based on facts that don't stand up to scrutiny, and cannot be compared to beating KSU in Manhattan.

He played well enough at ASU to be considered a first or second round talent in the NFL Draft. He's performed better in practice that our previous starter, who was himself the conference player of the year.

Here's the problem....I'm providing you with empiricial evidence, just not the kind you want. You're demanding game stats from a guy who hasn't played in a game in some time. I'm telling you that you can project those from the way he's played in the past, and the way he's practicing now.

As pointed out before, this thread ihas focused on two arguments...whether NU is a superior football team to KSU, and whether Keller is likely to perform well next year.

So don't mistake my jobes at KSU generally as some misplaced defense of Keller. You are simply having some trouble understanding the argument...undoubtedly a result of your K-State education....and not your fault.

You're....some insecure and jealous nancyboys dressed in "Homosexual Purple" who dog on Nebraska while trying to gloss over the fact that you wish your program was half as good.

Nothing with Keller has changed...he's still got the cannon arm, still reads defenses well, still makes good decisions. He's still a top pro prospect.

He's also ranked among the top 20 Heisman candidates, as evidenced here:

Quote
Sam Keller, Sr., QB, Nebraska: Keller is under the radar after sitting out last season following his transfer from Arizona State. He's an NFL talent who should have no problem adjusting to Bill Callahan's pro-style system. Nebraska is a school with Heisman tradition, so if Keller takes the Big 12 by storm, he could make a legitimate run.

No, there is nothing here about NU having a superior program to KSU.   You won the battle in Manhattan as you should against a first year coach, but it's not like over the last several years you've done that consistently.   Sadly, the only response you have to any argument is the win in Manhattan as if that makes the Keller argument look better for you.  It doesn't.  I'm staying focused on your delusional daydreams of an unproven commodity in your system.   I find it hillarious that you're willing to claim unequivocally that you'll be a better team when the best player on your offense is gone.  How many times have I heard that Jamal Lord was "Better than Crouch."

You all need to stop this before you embarrass yourself anymore.

I do find it amusing that you are very concerned about KSU's record and their team.. as if it should really matter to a bunch of fans who are depending on an unproven college player to lead them to some kind of .. trophy.

As it shows.. you're clearly obsessed with KSU.  When the word trophy comes up, you completely lose context.  You think I'm referring to past glories in that quote, I was referring to your faith in an unproven player to bring you one.  Clearly, you can't read very well as evidenced by your inability to see through your rose colored glasses.

I agree.

However, lets let huskerfan carry on.

It's always funny listening to fans of a team that is just 2 games above .500 in conference over 3 years, and just went through the worst 3 year run of football in 40 years tell us how dominant they're going to be. With a transfer QB who hasn't played a single snap of competitive football in over a year, and has a marginal number of snaps on the D1 level altogether.

The inconsistencies in your commentary and the ability of you to not even stay on topic are hillarious.

It's actually spelled "hilarious." The definition is Kansas State fans thinking their team is going to be able to compete in the Big 12.

Quote
you seriously trying to tell me that player who was touted as a top pro prospect and has never lived up to his hype is still the same player?  Be honest here.

He lived up to his hype. He was considered to be a top pro prospect up until the time he was injured. Now he's healthy, and has had a year to learn and run the offense. He's lost none of his skills.

I'm honestly amazed that you just don't get it. I suspect that you do and are just scared of what Keller will do to you guys next year.

Quote
Does your sorry secondary have the ability to make a judgement call on the type of QB he really is simply because he's played well in practice?  That's your empirical evidence?

1) He played well at ASU, against some very good defenses.

2) He was injured, but is completely healthy now.

3) He's had a year to learn and run the offense.

4) He's lost none of the skills that made him a top NFL prospect.

5) Our secondary, which has faced top competition, said that Keller was very impressive, and better than Taylor.

That's plenty of empirical evidence. The fact that you can't see that just demonstrates your bias. In about six months it will be irrelevant, as Keller torches and humiliates you guys in Lincoln.

***

Quote
No, there is nothing here about NU having a superior program to KSU.

That's actually been a recurring theme on this thread.

So there are two points...1) Keller is going to be a hell of a player, and better than Taylor; and 2) That will contribute to NU having a great year next year.

Two arguments....related to each other....take a breath and try to wrap your head around it.

Quote
I'm staying focused on your delusional daydreams of an unproven commodity in your system.   I find it hillarious that you're willing to claim unequivocally that you'll be a better team when the best player on your offense is gone.  How many times have I heard that Jamal Lord was "Better than Crouch."

Again, it's spelled "hilarious." He was proven at ASU against top competition. He's proven in practice in our system. You're just jealous that Taylor leaves and we simply reload with an even better talent at QB....that's the way is it at Nebraska, because we're just better than you.

Quote
You all need to stop this before you embarrass yourself anymore.

So let me get this straight....this is a fan of a team clad in "Homosexual Purple," warning me about embarrassing myself.

Quote
Uh, pro-scouts from several years ago.  No pro-scouts you can quote are talking about Keller as a draft pick unless he does much much better than Taylor (highly unlikely.)

Unlike at Kansas State, most college students only take four years to graduate. So I'm not sure where you got the idea that Keller's ratings came "several years ago." Again, your bias is showing through.

Keller's ratings actually came prior to last season....so around one year ago. But according to you he went from bigtime college QB and pro prospect to questionable talent in the span of that year....despite the fact that he's been studying the offense, participating in drills, and running the scout team.

Don't they even teach basic logic at K-State?

Quote
Irrelevant to the discussion.  That game was meaningless, no one remembers the loser of the game.

Playing for a National Championship could only be deemed irrelevant by a fan of a team that has never won one. Even getting to that game says a lot about the strength of the program.

Quote
Homosexual Purple?  Who are you, Fred Phelps?

No, a fan of a fellow Big 12 team who is embarrassed that K-State chooses to wear such a girly color. What's next? Hot pink pants?

Quote
Says you and the #75 ranked defense in the country.

They didn't seem to have any trouble shutting down your offense, and helped in punking you guys at home.

Quote
A "pre-season" heisman blog.   LOL!!

No, a preseason Heisman article, written by HeismanPundit.com, ranked by CNNSI as the "Heisman's foremost authority." Here's a challenge, try finding an article that links Josh Freeman, or any other K-State player for that matter to being in contention for the Heisman.

Quote
You're pathetic.  And an idiot.

More with the personal insults....

Quote
As it shows.. you're clearly obsessed with KSU.  When the word trophy comes up, you completely lose context.  You think I'm referring to past glories in that quote, I was referring to your faith in an unproven player to bring you one.  Clearly, you can't read very well as evidenced by your inability to see through your rose colored glasses.

No, I'm actually amused by K-Staters obsession with Nebraska. It's an interesting example of a classical inferiority complex.

Keller will be a great one. Everyone seems to see this but K-State fans, who are blinded by their envy. Imagine, K-State steals SoulGlo from Nebraska, and imagines they are actually going to be competitive. Nebraska responds by turning a moderately talented kid into the Big 12 Player of the Year, recruiting a proven college QB and top NFL prospect to follow him, and then grabbing yet more top talents to guide the team in the future.

In the meantime, the Texas Bowl is likely the best your program can muster. With a mediocre team, and even more mediocre 2-star talents coming in, you're insuring your position as an also-ran.

So while Nebraska is ascending back to the top spot in the Big 12, K-State can hover around .500, and hope to be merely bowl eligible. The domination, and thus K-State's inferiority complex will continue.

Way to concede the argument. In typical K-State fashion, you tuck tail and run.

Taylor was a good transitional QB for Nebraska, as we made the move to the West Coast offense. Keller is ideally suited to run this offense however, and has far superior skills to orchestrate the passing game.
