“It speaks for itself when you have 37 points and 23 rebounds,” Wildcats junior David Hoskins said. “It sounds real good, but we’re going to see how he plays against us.”

Quote
"I just can’t let him drive past me. I’ve seen he takes a lot of jump shots,” Wright said. “Even when he posts up, he’s not really looking to back you down. He’s more into facing up and turning and shooting. Just get up in him, make him drive and pass the ball. He’s going to make some shots. You’ve just got to make it tough on him.”

I think we've got to go in there and rough him up a bit despite Barnes preemptive strike at the officials.  Its looking like Wright might get the nod on this deal; he's obviously done some film study of Durant.

We absolutely CANNOT let him get to the line.  He will murder us.  He is shooting 83% from the line!

I do like the strategy of pushing him off the block and making him hit jumpers and handle the ball and hope for turnovers (his real weakness is TOs), but he has two GREAT perimeter shooters to kick to and depending on how the refs call the game this strategy could leave us in dire straits if Cartier and Akeem rack up two quick fouls early and all of a sudden there are 30 minutes left in the game and we are re-thinking our defensive game plan.

Darren Kent guarding the best offensive player in the nation must be some kind of joke.

If we get Akeem, Martin, and Hoskins in foul trouble I'm sure the answer will be zone.

If we can somehow limit Durant to hit ~40% of his shots it would be a major victory.  The fact that he hits 53% of his shots and 47% of his treys (league play) is incredible.  Durant shoots 35% of UTs shots, so if you can somehow lower his %-age you have a major victory already.  Then you have to watch Abrams (48% from 3 in league play) and try to disrupt Augustine (9 assists per game, 3.44 A-TO ratio) you have a great chance.  The thing is you don't need to necessarily do all of those; follow the Nova strategy if possible.  They held Durant to 27% (!) and Augustine to 4 assists (!), but Abrams still went 5-11 from 3 for 19 pts and Ausgustine 5-6 from 3 for 25 pts.

Which just happens to be the best player on KSU's roster to create offense when Cartier and Dave are having an off night.

Thanks for that thought Rusty!  :blank:

i´d love to see kent get a shot at durant.  it might not work, but it is interesting enough that i think it would be fun to look at.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

It's pretty common knowledge that Stew cornholed KK's girl.

Who was it on our team that used to play against LaBron (I think)?

Was it Hoskins?

He was quoted in the paper yesterday; anticipating our physical play and hoping "the officials called the game the way its supposed to be called" or something like that.

During the MU game on one of Stew's fast break turnovers he was trying to throw the ball to KatKid's girlfriend (souvenir).  Everyone thought he made an errant pass! LOL @ that. LOL @ STEW HAD A BAD GAME!!
