I don't get princes recruiting at all.  I get that the class is winding down, and you want to fill every available slot and that tihs kid is probaly a plan c or d kid but prince already has commits from several players already that fit in the same mold as this kid.  If he is gonna give one of his last  schols to this kid that is obviously a stretch athletically and even grade wise, why doesn't he take the same risk by giving the schol to a damn defensive  tackle?  surely he can find a dt someplace that is desperate for a schol and who  will work hard once on the team.

also, offering a prep that you know is probaly going to a juco is just flat out stupid in the first place.  Unless this kid is some freak athletically, which this kid is not.

he was first team dallas metro. he has crazy speed. he was ignored by the recruiting services b/c he never had a chance at qualifying. he is being placed at Coffeyville. if he doesn't develop, ksu won't re-recruit him. that's how it works.

maybe that's how it works for idiots who don't knoiw crap about recruiting but you don't extend an offer to anyone who you know isn't going to qualify unless they are a rare breed of athlete.  doesn't the fact that not one other team in the nation agrees he is worth an offer but ksu bother you?

I like it when NU fans come over and tell us how they aren't concerned us, but like to tell us how bad we are.

You don't suppose.. they're scared.. do you?

it's called signing and placing, dumbass, and dozens of other schools do it. it means the juco will protect the recruit from other schools trying to come in and poach the player if the original school wants to re-recruit him.

so, it's basically taking a spot away from a prep player who will qualify so that you can put a kid in juco and maybe have a shot at him in a year or so.  I get it, makes perfect sense to me.  I mean, I had to hit myself with a brick causing brain damage, but now I get it.  You might want to amend your comment that dozens of other teams do it.  because not to many teams are that stupid.

Wow, you're a moron. Offering a kid a scholarship doesn't take one away from anyone else. Look at K-State's recruiting class this year. We have thirty commits or something and only twenty-six scholarships to offer. Now how does that work? Oh, we will put a bunch of them in Jucos. That is why our coaches are STILL recruiting. Even though they have already filled the class. You are an idiot.

sign and place is a must do if you want to have success with juco recruiting.

juco coaches are a lot nicer to the schools that have placed legit talent into their program than the schools that just come cold calling their best players.

Prince and staff are doing an excellent job of re-establishing the good will towards JC's that was lost at the end of Snyder's tenure when KSU got very arrogant and thought all the JC's were KSU's for the taking.

c'mon Nebraska poster, get familiar w/ the rules before saying that Prince is "taking an offer away from a prep who can qualify".  That is not how it works.  We could sign 35 but the NCAA is only interested in the 25 per class who are admitted and 85 currently on scholarship.  They don't care how many a program signs...the 25 per class only pertains to those who join the team on scholarship, not on signing day.

Evans averaged nearly 8 yards per carry and just under 1,000 yards in the Dallas public schools league.  He also won his district(inner-city Dallas schools) in the 200 meters so he is a burner.  He's nothing more than a sign and place and it's possible we won't even sign him..just place him.
