    Gettin' angried up!!!
As a kid who grew up on a golf course in Wichita, I can't speak much for the ag department.  However, I have seen some pretty astronomical numbers about the various amounts the ag department brings in.  (research grants, scholarships dollars, private donations, etc)  I'd be willing to bet that, with the exception of those who majored in "already wealthy future lottery winners," the ag department is probably responsible for more money being funneled into the university than any other department. (I'm including the vet. department in with the ag, I always kind of figured they were lumped together anyway.)

The Ag school portion of the $500 million dollar campaign is . . . $100 million.

    The very best.
Cut the ag college and give all the money to engineering.

We need graduates that actually make money.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You may have a bit of a point, but if you run a farming operation right, you can make lots of money . . . and still get to cry poor mouth all the time to boot.

That's true. My dad is an agronomy professor. LOL.

He pretty much agrees with me. Thinks kstate should really invest in the college of engineering because the potential is there for it to be ranked very high with the decent students we get.

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

that's because farming is one of the only industries in which you have absolutely no control over the price of which you sell your product.

Well, not all farm products are like that Saul, but many of the big ones are . . . many of the farmers I know supplement themselves by being feed, seed or chemical dealers.
