I think we all know he can dunk, so could Harold Miner*

Rush is the first freshman in Big 12 history to make 1st-team All Big 12.

He's also the oldest freshman in the conference since WWII.  I'll get you a link as soon as I find it.
Remember Norris "Sarge" Colemen who played for us in the mid 80s?  He was in his mid-20s as Freshman.  The guy was as stud.

Rush shot 50% from 3-point range last season.  He can shoot, drive, dunk, rebound, defend, etc, etc.  He's better than Cartier Martin, or any player K-State would like to throw out there.

This thread isn't about Cartier Martin, or any player K-State would like to throw out there, it's about yet another over-hyped Rush.
Why was Gary Coleman (S.Collins) the Freshman, the one pulling you guys out of the hole you call "MU's A-Game"?  Where was the all Big XII POY All-American?
Oh that's right, he was put on lock down by this guy-

Because Collins is the best freshman point guard in the country, and he finally played up to his potential.  It doesn't matter who steps up.  We've got plenty of options.

Rush had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and shut down Lawrence at the end of the game when it mattered most.  Keep trying, piss.

I'm not trying BMW, his play speaks for itself.
Unos Dimensionos.

I never claimed the guy wasn't good, but don't you think the criteria for All-Big XII, POY, AA should include the ability to shoot a better FG% than Jason Bennett?

He started out the season in a bit of a slump.  His production has improved a lot recently.  I wouldn't say he's a one-dimensional player though.  Bill Walker would be a better example of a one-dimensional player.

A high school senior/college freshman who played 6 games vs. All World Brandon Rush, an epic battle of the ages.
Bill would kill him.

Bill Walker is a 6'5 power forward with two knee injuries.  He'll never be the same athletically.  Rush is a better shooter, better defender, and better overall player.  Plain and simple.

Sherron Collins and Ty Lawson are basically equal in my opinion.  You won't find many who would argue that both of these guys aren't the best two freshmen point guards in the country.  However, as a K-State fan, your opinion is rooted in the fact that you hate ku with a passion.  Such is life.

Add Javaris Crittenton and D.J. Augustin to that list.

I still think Collins and Lawson are the best though.

Player A averages 9.4 ppg, 6.4 apg, shoots 51%, and has a 3:1 assist/TO ratio
Player B averages 8.6 ppg, 2.3 apg, shoots 49%, and has a 1.5 Asst/TO ratio

ku Conclusion:  Player B is a better PG than Player A

Player A averages 29.1 minutes per game.

Player B averages 19.4 minutes per game.

I prefer Colllins.

You are saying that Rush is better than Bill Walker, you are basically going against every draft expert's opinion. Bill Walker would have been taken top 10 in the NBA draft, if not for the rule to stay at least a year in college. And at that instant during the draft, Rush would have been studying hard for his sign language midterm. Even with two bad knees Walker still can jump twice as high as Kareem Rush's brother.

Before he tore his ACL, yes, he would have been drafted higher than Rush.  At this point, he's not projected to go in the '08 NBA Draft.  Rush is still the better overall player.  I'll take a 6'6 small forward who can shoot over a 6'5 power forward with two busted knees any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Have you ever heard of Willis McGahee, I see his torn up knee didn't completely ruin his first round draft pick. And as I see from this website Rush will be an early second round pick. Let me tell you something about ability. If you have it, then some team will take a chance on you. But if you don't have this ability, then your Kareem Rush's brother.

Okay, now there are two best F PG's.  You're correct that there are not many (people) who would argue that Collins is one of the best PG's in the country.  Because his production has been rather pedestrian,no?

No, my opinion is rooted in the fact that I think you're giving Collins a lot more credit than he's earned.  Certainly, a fan of ku basketball would ramp up that congenital basketball IQ and try to use a statistical analysis at least.  Instead of that, I got the innocuous "you won't find many who would argue". That'so

Now, that's not to say you're wrong.   To really know for sure we'd probably have to wait for the season to play out.

Of course you do.  Player B would average more minutes but he couldn't beat out Russell Robinson for more time.

Freshman have to earn their playing time.  Robinson is the heart and soul of the team and one of the best defensive players in the country.

Damn, with all of this talent, you would think that ku could win a freaking post season game!!

Now BMW will reply with something like "atleast we make the post season!!"

But the thing is, we have sucked, and aren't even that great now. We have the balls to admit it. You ku fans need to work on that..
