You can't be racist and like basketball.
Pat Washington will be looking for his fourth job in four years about a year from now.

Things have to be bad if he'd choose Croom over Prince at this point.

My old buddy, the Tennessee fan, said two things about Coach Washington:

1)  His receivers don't block downfield.  (Don't remember that being a problem this year, probably because the "guru" and his mentor couldn't get the guys with the sole responsibility of blocking to do just that for the downfield blocking to even matter that much.)

2)  He likey the strip clubs.  (As long as he isn't picking up a Dee Snider clone with his KSU credit card, I don't care.)

Thought the receivers did a solid job this year, all things considered.  Based on results, however, Washington's recruiting at KSU appeared to have some "room for growth."
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

I think you have to bring in the personal side of the equation.  Horton coming to Manhattan was a step up for a young person in his coaching career.  He is the son of a coaching legend in Arkansas or Alabama.  His daddy is guiding him.  It was a step up to go to a coordinators position at Air Force.  Raheem's wife has a very good position at a big name bank in Tampa and did not want to move to Manhattan.  I don't think she ever did.  Raheem got an asst coaches position back in pro ball and probably saved his marriage.  Washington supposedly wanted to be closer to his southeastern roots and be with his buddy now that he is at Mississippi State.  McCarty is gone because he sucked.  No job prospects at the moment.  Franklin's departure is pure conjecture.  I believe he stays.

Assts. came in the early years to learn under Snyder and then left.  Assts. under Prince are young sheep trying to find their way. Prince is not a teaching guru..yet.   McCarty wasn't ready for prime time, others improved their lot.  When your the boss its your ass in the sling so sometimes you have to be a prick.  Let's see how the spots are filled.  Face it, as a young coach learning D 1 ball, Manhattan is a stepping stone not a destination.  Unlike Del Miller and Bobby Elliott who would have retired here if Bill hadn't beat them to the punch!
" and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me," Carl Spackler

Reason why Washington left:  Woody McCorvey.  There you have it.

Quote
"He expressed a desire to work again with Woody McCorvey," Kansas State coach Ron Prince said in the release. "We wish him the best of luck in his new position."

SoDJ -- Your're right on with Cole...He was a carryover from Snyder and uses old school (aka less effective) means of improving S&C.  Contrary to Coach G.  And you're right, Coach G gets (er, got) no imput from RC, nor do I believe that he asked for it.  IMO, the door was opened for him on his way out.  A new S&C coach should improve the speed/power of this team immensely.

Damn he's good at saying a bunch of crap without really saying anything at all. His answers sound just like those you would hear during a political debate between presidential candidates.

He should just issue a generic monthly statement that the media and fans could answer their own questions with. He could have a word bank with stuff like "bold, talented, fast, daring, speed, toughness, etc."  and then just rearrange the words into paragraph form every month. That would save everyone a lot of time.

    The very best.
Did you know during bowl preparation that they'd be leaving?
"My point is that these are talented people, and that every one of them on the coaching staff is going to be sought after, either continually or at some point. That's how I'll answer that question."

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Amen.  Considering the volume of non-information and selective information that we get from RP, you'd think he has a law degree.

Or at the very least he'd have read a book about law degrees.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
