I'm hearing we're having like 4 staff changes in the football program.  Some are great, some are pretty sucky.

Raheem is basically gone.  I love the guy, hate the schemes.  Good move.
We also got that new Baylor guy for the DB coach.
Franklin may also be leaving too.  Can't hurt us much as we didn't have much of an offense this year.
Offensive Line coach maybe leaving.  Also our strength and conditioning coach Rod Cole or whatever.

Who knows, some will hurt.  Some will help.  I think that the new Baylor coach might be coming to become our new DC.  Either that or the D-line coach will.

Mo Latimore our new DC?

I don't think it's possible to spin completely new coordinators in year two as a good thing.

I can't imagine that both coordinators would be leaving after 1 year?  That's bad news if true even if you dont' like them.

I loved Raheem, but I hated the Tampa 2.  Our defense was very, very bad at the end of the year.

Losing the offensive coordinator does suck.  But you have to think about it - with the way our offense played most of the time this year, can it really hurt THAT much?

I'm glad we're keeping Tibesar.

I have heard that it isn’t exactly pleasant working for Ron.  From the account I heard, the two coordinators didn't really give the impression that they thought much of Ron.

I agree with Rusty.  Losing two coordinators can't be spinned.  But I guess at least the Baylor guy has had 7 years as a DC (although at a D-1AA level).  Hopefully he can get the players as "crunked" as Raheem.

As for Franklin, Ron might as well just take over the OC position (kind of like Bill) and hire some QB coach who can recruit.

Tibesar is the only guy we can't lose.  His contributions are worth at least one win.

In a way it's not all that surprising, considering they were all "WTF??" hires to begin with.

I'm not saying Bill was a peach to work for either, but atleast Bill had a background that demanded some type of respect.  What's Ron going to say?  "Listen to me because my offense finished nationally in the top 25 once and out of the top 50 twice in my 3 years as an OC".

What did Bill Snyder have to say in 1990 . . ." Listen to me I was the offensive coordinator at Iowa and we went to 1 Rose Bowl and I had one QB who was pretty good. "????

I wonder if Ron leaves notes on coaches doors that say, "If you ever leave this building again during working hours you're fired."

Where is the information about Raheem leaving?  I heard Horton was going back to Air Force, but I hadn't heard anything about Raheem leaving.  The Baylor guy is suppose to coach Running Backs from what I read.

Who do you think had more respect going into their respective first head coaching jobs?  Bill was actually widely respected in the Big 10, where as the other ACC coaches probably gave the same expression as KSU fans when they found out Ron was KSU's coach..."who?".  I wonder if Ron even knows where his coaches' offices are what with his busy book reading schedule.  I'm actually not too unhappy about the changes.  Maybe if Bill would have taken similar actions, KSU football wouldnt' be where it is right now.

Experience has nothing to do with it.  One is mostly demanding and the other is mostly a dickhead.  That's the difference.

I'm no big Ron Prince fan . . . but you're basing the idea that Bill Snyder could be a prick and it was never an issue (which he was to the highest level to his staff behind closed doors) just because he was the Offensive Coordinator at Iowa and Iowa had a decent run.

I'm basing it off the idea that people (asst. coaches) are more inclined to accept the head coach's actions/attitude when they believe that the head coach actually knows what he is doing and has a successful track record.

I think there is a difference between the two coaches here.  Let me try another angle.  One is transparently full of crap and one is not.  There is plenty of evidence of this.  Working for some one that is full of crap yet demanding isn't fun, IMO.

Raheem - Mcgriff
Franklin - ?
McCarty - ?

So far, so good.  It won't be hard to find better coaches than Franklin and McCarty.

He's the passing coordinator and WR's coach for the Vikings.  Don't know if we could lure him away.

He has pretty much the same position Franklin had and he's an alum.

No, other than the fact that he recruits like a badass.

He also looks like a badass.  How much do position coaches in the NFL make?  I would love a black head coach, a black offensive coordinator, and a black defensive coordinator.

this guy is looking for a job....

and, if you want to boost recruiting in a big, big way, get this guy engaged:

you want bold and daring?  pay ex nfl head coaches a cool million to be a coordinator or recruiter while they take a year or two off waiting for the right nfl job to come available.

ron is pretty much an a-hole.  many have been telling ksu fans that for a long long time and you didnn't want ot hear it, but now you have prood, staring you in the face.  coaches don't leave like this, one year after being hired for no reason.

you hired the wrong guy and he is going to take your program right down into the crapper.

Here we go again with the "The sky is falling for KSU!" from Nebraska fans.

You'd think they of all people would realize it's not.

Callahan won five games in his first year, taking over a team that won 10 games the year before.

Prince won seven games in his first year, taking over a team that won nine games in the previous TWO years.  And I'm pretty sure every active head coach in the Big XII has a better record in year two than year one.

Also, as pointed out in a lot of other threads, coaches DO just leave like this after one or two years.  See Snyder as a reference.

You'd think Nebraska fans would know something about college football, yet every time they speak it becomes painfully more apparent that they don't have a clue.
