Congdon's suckiness causes him to get run out of Lincoln.

No worries.  I'm sure their backup was better.

he wasn't run out of anyplace.  he is a good fg kicker, very accurate.  however, he has a less than strong leg.  hasn't kicked any touchbacks this year and he shouldn't get mad because even a fg kicker with a cannon for a leg would have had a hard time kicking a near 50 yarder into the wind.  Callahans not going for it was a call of probalbilities.  my guess is, most head coaches facing a 50 yarder into the wind would go for it or punt it on 4th down and since punting wasn't an option, going for it was the only option.

Year 1 defections . . . Year 3 defections.

This really isn't that hard.

For the record, it was a 47 yard try...into a 10 mph breeze..

A 50 yarder into the wind to save teh game is alot different scenario than opting to go for it when you are assured you will get another possession.

Callahan pussed out. Plain and simple.

UMMM...  He's leaving to donate part of his liver to his Uncle to help save his life. It will be 9 months to a year before he can do any physical activities if he ever will. He asked to be released from his scholarship incase he can't return to football.

10 mph isn't a big gust, but it is significant when you factor in the length of the kick.  I have never kicked in my life, but I do know that a 47 yarder isn't considere a gimmee even by nfl standards, now kick into a 10 mph win and the odds go down.

I found out something today that may have had something to do with his leaving, and that is nebraska got a kicker from vanderbilt who transfered him.  I wonder how much that had to do with him leaving, laong with a big time kicker with a big time leg from texas who was just offered by miami in this years class coming in.

oh well.
