nobody's showing up.  walker seems uninterested.  this team is falling apart.  huggins has been a train wreck ever since he was hired.

We need to get asses in the seats. This is &@#%ing ridiculous. And I am afraid that we are going to get beat by USC, NMSU, Xavier and then less than 6k will be there for Tech on Monday night because they would rather watch the damned NC. Our fans are &@#%ing pathetic. And need to start showing up. Stunner, any chance you can transfer from ku to KSU and try and get in as many classes with Walker as possible and try to make sure he is always happy? We need him to be happy no matter what at all times....

Let's calm down on the crowd.  Sure, coach is noticing it, but I think he'll notice a change for Big 12 play and be pleased.  The heart and soul of any college crowd is the students and while I thought the small group there tried to get into it, there wasn't enough to do much.  We've got to hope that the big numbers that show for Bobby Knight and Tech will leave impressed.  We had nice crowds for conference play last year (we averaged 10K) so I only expect them to be better when the Big 12 gets going this year.  A couple wins over the break wouldn't hurt either.

Anyone else notice that Bramlage tried to get the "Bring on the Cats" deal started before the guys came out by showing it on the video boards?  I think that's a first for this year.  And I know its been discussed before on the pregame, but the song they play right before our introductions needs to go.  Last year's was much better.  It seems to get worse each time I see it.  :frown:

No crap, whats up with the seats being empty all the time?  I thought they "sold out" of season tickets.

Stupid hicks should get the cows milked earlier....

I've been most disappointed with the no shows, and last night we had 1600 plus.  We've had over 5K no shows for 3 games this year and averaged around 4K no shows.  Sunday no actual vs sold tickets were listed in the box score so I assume most people showed.

That said, our numbers are going to end up looking very good this year.  I think our no show numbers will be much less come Big 12 play as well and we'll likely average 12K+ in actual attendance and a sell-out (13340) every game.  At the end of the day our average attendance that's reported (based on tickets sold) will be over 12K, likely be very close to the 2nd best season in Bramlage history, and be just outside the Top 20 in NCAA basketball.

No, I'll say he'll be at KSU from 5-7 years.

Why:

1.  He works for an administration he really likes.

2.  Very strong possibility he'll be recruiting from one of the nicest basketball centers in all of college hoops that is on the drawing board right now.

3.  The OOC schedule will improve and crowds will improve.

    Fear the Brick
I just don't get it.  KSU fans have sat through Dana Altman, Tom was an embarassment and Wooly couldn't cut it.  We've fallen from the elite 8 in 1988 to being a bubble NIT that can't make it in.  We then get, by some sort of miracle, the closest thing to a sure lock to getting back to winning (and by winning  I mean consistent NCAA tourney team and contending for the Big 12) and we essentially don't show up to watch what we've complaining about not seeing for going on 2 decades.

The chairbacks and the students are an embarassment.  The students supported neckbrace to fighting end, yet can't support the 8th winningest active coach?  The chairbacks didn't think Dana Altman won so they ran him out, yet won't show up to watch a once in a lifetime NBA talent like Walker.

I know the attendance will change once the conference starts (hopefully).  And I know that once we aren't playing the dregs of college basketball at home in the OOC the attendance will spike.  But Huggins obviously takes the lack of attendance as a sign of disrespect to him, and it definitely isn't a way to endear ourselves as a fanbase to Huggins.

This post is way more powertard than I would have liked.

Well, Weiser did his job by bringing in a top notch coach.  Now the lazy ass student body can't support the coach, how pathetic!

Get the asses out of the dorms and to the arena!  Studying was never that exciting.....

If our student body weren't out smoking reefer and playing hackysack, they might realize there is a basketball game going on.
Kids now a days just want to ride skateboards and make rap videos, they don't care 'bout supporting the purple and the black and the white (i  guess).

 :peek:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

lol.

seriously though, it's not the students, it's the old people that buy season tickets and then don't use them.

Granted I've only been able to make one game this year(EFF YOU GUYS I'M POOR AND LIVE TWO HOURS AWAY), and it was Sunday so the students weren't in town, but when I was at K-state last year they packed the student section fine.  I'm personally betting the reason there are more empty bleachers at the top because everyone is cramming closer together at the bottom to get closer to the action now that there's something worth watching.

The old people that buy season tickets and then don't show don't have an excuse.  They have assigned seats that they don't use.  I can understand games during the week, if you live 2 hours away, but why wasn't Sunday sold out?  I got some decent tickets for $15 a piece and enjoyed it, even if the game was boring as &@#%.

I think you've got to call out both.  I'd guess the split for our average no shows is probably 50-50, or about 1600 each.

Anyway you look at it 19788 people have had a ticket to a K-State game and not bothered to show up this season.  That's a bunch of folks.  I'll be patient and see what happens come Big 12 play, but that's a bunch.

Huggins will be at KSU until he retires or until the administration becomes very anti-athletics.  When we start winning games by 50 that we should win by 50 the place will fill up.

Still as many or more for a midweek, nobody non-con opponent during Christmas break than there were for some weekend conference games last year.

I would like to comment on the student attandance, they have sections 19-forever (the tunnel), that corner has not been full all season.  Dead week, what a load of BS, I'm sure there are a few students like our favorite die hards, Kougy and FFF that might have some hard classes  :crybaby: but, most of the student body is not in that boat.  Now the students complaint is they are on break...where do the (most) students live?? Kansas, where do most season ticket holders live, Kansas.  So, if the students can't get there on a Tuesday night when they have laid around on their parents couches all day, why do they jump all over fans and alums who work all day and have families to take care of for not making it? If its the cost, students are getting season tickets for $100!! That is an incredible deal, pony up the extra $30 you got from selling your used poly-sci book and get tickets to the games during break.  $130 is a fraction of what season ticket holders pay, and you get sideline seats. Pathetic...

Most of those chairbacks are dead or in the retirement home, I think their estates still buy the tickets and the seats sit empty.

We picked up some carry-out at BWW's on the way to the game.  There were a lot of people waiting for a table with a good view so they could watch the game.

There is no reason for these games not to be filled up.  Bob F'n Huggins bringing KSU basketball back to life is far and way the most interesting thing happening in the 50-mile radius surrounding Manhattan.

you can't turn 15 years of despondency in only 6 crappy OOC games.  frankly, we are far, far ahead of where almost any other fanbase in america would be in this same position.

huggins is not an idiot, he knows what he is working with here and its far better than at least 9 other big 12 school's basketball fans (osu, isu, and ku being the 3 exceptions---although i'd love to see how ku fans react if they had the futility we have had)
