In a recent ESPN playoff, where the top college football teams of all time were ranked, Nebraska's top teams, from 1971 and 1995 were found to be the top two teams of all time, and competed in the final round, won by the 1995 team.

The best two teams of all time, from the same school....now that's a football legacy.

Anyone care to guess how many of the teams selected were from K-Lite??

The 95 Team won. Unquestionably the best in college football history, won every game, the smallest victory margin was 14 pts., and crushed the #2 team Florida, 62-24.

That's a TD for every rape or battery that a player committed.

Tom did a lot better when he started bringing in the thugs and jacked up the Steroid Drip.

I'll say this much:

Those were the two best teams I've ever seen.

Yeah, I wasn't around in 71, but the 95 team was just amazing....no one could even come close. To win every game by at least 14 points, and then just dismantle the #2 team by 38 points (and it wasn't even that close), that kind of domination is unheard of.

GO BIG RED!!!

In MY fantasy playoff, Baylor from 1998 won.  The point: Fantasy playoff doesnt mean a damn thing.  NU had two great teams but they were great before the fantasy playoff, not because of it so....none of this really changes or means anything.

Give me a break.  You know the only reason that both teams were in the championship round was because Nebraska fans were demolishing the ESPN polls.  (This show was decided by fans voting.)

The 95 Nebraska team did deserve to win, but the 71 team shouldn't have been runner up.  There've been better football teams.

No way was the 1971 NU team worthy of 2nd place on that chart.

When Tom went full blown thug with his team, he finally won it all after 25 years at the helm.

The consensus prior to 1995 was that the 1971 Husker team was the best team in college football history. They just dominated the competition. Now the 1995 team was better, but that shouldn't take away from how dominant the 1971 team was in that era.

After a day of beating and raping women, college football is a piece of cake.

The 1971 team needed 'no calls' to beat OU.  But, one thing is clear: both of those teams would wipe the toilet seat with NU's current program.  What a fall from the summit it's been.  Maybe next year NU will "restore the order" with a QB against whom his former teammates mutinied?  Or, maybe a new slogan is needed.  "Stay the Course."  "Mission Accomplished."  "The Way Forward."  "The Way We Were."

NU should have signed Freeman to a LOI.
