Just a few thoughts for those coming to the game.
Travel
AIR - Houston has two airports. Intercontinental on the north side which is a hub for Continental airlines. Hobby on the south side which is where all of Southwest's flight come into. I usually fly back to KCI on Continental mainly because its closer to my house but for those of you coming into town it doesn't really matter. Both airports are fairly easy commutes into the game and area of town were you will most likely be staying.
DRIVING - Pretty easy drive. I make it every Christmas. Plan on 13 - 14 hours from Kansas City. My parent's house is north of Lawerence and it usually takes me 12 hours to get to the north side of Houston.
Hotels
I think the team is staying in the Galleria area. It is on the west side of town at the intersection of the 610 loop and Westheimer Rd. This is the high end part of town so not sure what prices will be like. For those on a budget feel free to PM me and I'll let you know if you should bring a gun and bullet proof vest or if you are in a decent part of town.
Things to do
Houston has just about anything you can imagine. We are internationally known for out titty bars but also have first class museums, NASA, a good zoo (weather should allow outdoor activities), tons of golf. There are several bar districts with night clubs of all sorts.
Food
Probably the best thing about making a trip to Houston. We have some of the best restaurants in the world. I'll post some of those latter.
If you have any other questions I'll do my best to answer them.
