You allow two of your players to take money from a local business for work not performed, you do the only possible correct thing by kicking them off of the team; when everyone knows it was your fault for allowing it to happen; you back your way into a Big 12 championship; when at the beginning of the season you were expected to compete for a national championship, with the only possible good thing you could say about your team is that a couple guys stepped up in place of an injury to one of the biggest playmakers on your team.  Doesn't matter that you have one of the best O-lines in the world, replacing a guy like that was amazing, and your peers vote you in as Big 12 Coach of the Year?

Oh, now I understand.  Way to go guys.

Anyone but stoops... and mangino I guess...   I just don't see rewarding a coach for "doing the right thing" after allowing NCAA violations under your watch.

I guess it puts into perspective what the other coaches thought of that whole Big Red Auto situation.

I don't have a problem with Stoops winning it......but it shouldn't have been Unanimous.
Prince deserved at least a few votes in there. Come on.

There's no points for second place, Iceman.

lol, he doesn't deserve it after what ku did to him.  He deserves a shot if he goes 5-3.

If we would've beat ku, Prince would've been in the running.  After that loss, I didn't think he had a chance.  Yeah, what he did is fairly rare (inexperienced coordinator taking a team to a bowl in his 1st season), but it wasn't enough to warrant COY.

For the record; I wasn't upset prince didn't get it so much as I was upset Stoops did.  That, I thought, was the joke.

losing to bu and ku in the same year disqualifies you from coach of the year consideration.

So that means Mangino only has to beat Baylor and he is in the running? Poor guy couldn't even do that much.

ksufan is right on the money. no win over ku = no consideration for coy. 8-4 with what this team went through would've been darn-good. as it turned out, 7-5 was merely-good.  :)

So besides Stoops and Prince, who else would someone have wanted for C.O.Y?

Prince did a decent job at 7-5...but getting handled by NU, MU, ku, and even Baylor takes us out of the running. All were double digit losses. wtf.
