It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

nice...best band and cheerleaders? cool...several weeks ago..? the first man to talk reminds me of one of those "release the demands from your body, your about to be saved" then the big push in the forehead fellas on TV. The football video seems like ive seen something close to that before.

Anyone else glad Idiots Out Wandering Around State hired this teabag?  Prince wiped his ass with Chizik's defense this year and now he'll get to do it on an annual basis!!!  If the 'zik can't get the Griffin brothers to play well, there ain't a snowballz chance in H-E-Double Hockey Sticks he'll get ISU's swiss cheese shored up.  Freeman and the boys are going to bring this guy to his knees next year.
Once you get past the ethics, the rest is easy.

Is Jamie Pollard related to Al Bohl???  He's going to pay his new coach over $1.1M / year, minimum, and he gives him a left over ball cap from McCarney?

Chizik looks like he was wondering what in the hell he's doing in Iowa during the fight song... of course, I would, too.

OMG!!!  That is so much better/worse than the McDermott "presser".

Just when I think we get a little dorky/corny, I can always look at ISU hiring a head coach.

This is a great hire for ISU. You can make fun of their press conference all you want but at the end of the day you know you guys would have killed to have seen Weiser introduce Chizik in any press conference.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I guess in the fact that they both won the NC as DC in their previous job, other than that, what are the similarities?

Relative inexperience as coordinators...riding on the coattails of quality programs...much worse in year two at their respective programs...

I'm also saying that Mangino was undervalued as a head coaching candidate (due to his obesity) as much as I am saying Chizik is overvalued.

Chizik's been a DC for 10 years, spent time in two BCS conferences including the SEC, and won a NC in that time period.  Appears experienced to me.

Taking Auburn from an 8-5 season to a 13-0 season and Sugar Bowl berth, then coming to UT and winning the NC is "riding the coattails of quality programs"?  Should he have stayed at S.F.Austin for another 6 years?

At UT ok, Auburn not really.

Didn't realize he was DC at Auburn the whole time.  (I thought it was just one year)

Chizik is a train wreck waiting to happen.  If he couldn't dominate with Mack Brown's 5* athletes across the board on the 2-deep what in the hell is he going to do at Iowa State other than collect $1M/year?

Again, Chizek is this year's Mike Stoops.  Yeah, Stoops had the "co" tag, but its pretty similar really.  No doubt, it was a very good hire as far as excitement goes and will get ISU fans pumped about recruiting, but there really are no guarantees.  Stoops has gone 3-8, 3-8, and 6-6 at Arizona, so its not like he's tearing it up.  I doubt Chizek matches Princes first year success at ISU and I imagine it will be a lot closer to Stoops' 1st year at AZ.

The only ISU hire that would've brought great concern IMO would've been Butch Davis.
