Mark Schlabach was on Cold Pizza today to discuss all of the coaching vacancies. Here is a brief report of what he said:

Alabama -

Bobby Petrino - Current Louisville Head Coach
Rich Rodriguez - Current W. Virginia Head Coach
Nick Saban - Current Miami Dolphins Head Coach
Jim Grobe - Current Wake Forest Head Coach

Michigan State hired Cincinnati Head Coach Mark Dantonio today

Schlabach reported that Central Michigan coach Brian Kelly would be the new Iowa State Head Coach but that is false. It is going to be Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik.

NC State will make a run at Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher. He also mentioned former USC and Current Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow, Jim Donnan formerly of Georgia and current Navy Head Coach Paul Johnson.

Arizona State will make a strong run at Norm Chow and don't be surprised if current Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach makes a strong push for that job.

Shouldn't Bo Pelini fit in here somewhere?

Already turned it down.  I wouldn't want to coach at Penitentiary U. either.

Leavitt to Bama

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Is NCState really going after Cowher?  What the hell is wrong with the people down there?

If Phillip Rivers were retired, that's who'd they would end up with.

Leavitt to Bama

I thought it was too early in S. Florida's development for him to take another job?  :blank:

Wasn't he the obvious choice to replace Snyder?

Rumor has it that Alabama offered Spurrier about $30 million over 7 years, which would make him the highest paid coach in college football. That might get him interested.

If they threw in free visors and a book of Auburn smack he might do it.
