Kansas State
This class has 2 players of note and many 'fillers'. We all know about
Freeman. The desire to play early and for a black coach were a huge
draw for
him. It will be fun to watch how their QB situation plays out b/c
Prince
basically threw his other QBs under the bus with some comments. James
Johnson is going to another juco not in Texas so he can sidestep the
Texas
juco exit exam. I think he is running track at Butler next semester but
don't know where for sure. It took him 3 years to get out of juco and
he
can't pass the exit exam...anyone seriously think he can handle a Big
12
offense next fall despite missing spring ball? I don't. Kendall is a
big and
athletic kid. I just don't see him ending up at defense. My gut says he
turns into a nice right tackle. Wayne Daniels benefitted from playing
next
to the 5 star DE, Eddie Jones. Watch his film and he gets no attention
b/c
of Jones demanding double and triple teams. Daniels also is visiting
the
hometown Horned Frogs and tripping to San Diego State the last 2
weekends.
Anyone know who originally recruited him for KSU? Anyone know where
that guy
is now? The answers are Bobby Elliot and he is at SDSU now.
I thank my
lucky
stars Patton didn't change to ku. I love Mangino but I think even he
misses
on kids sometimes. I have no idea what they think Patton could offer.Krehbiel decided to take his only BCS offer...kid doesn't have 'it'
from
what I am told. Cheatham is an interesting prospect when discussing his
involvement with ku and KSU. He is very attractive b/c he is a 3/3 guys
but
won't be anywhere until summer. For KSU he might have been a good
option,
but for ku they needed someone there for spring ball. I think had
Rodney
Harris and his buddy Mike McCoy not been headed to Lawrence next
year...ku
would have continued to recruit Cheatham along with Bueltel. Someone I
trust
told me that most of their jucos guys have nice speed but are very
undersized and will struggle to play much b/c you can't play
undisciplined
in the Big 12.
