of course all of Josh's starts have come in Big 12 play.

Biggest difference.  Meier is a REDSHIRT Freshman who spent last season in the offense.  He had a senior RB and three senior interior OL.  He had a running game early in the season to help him out.  Huge differences between the two.

Starts
Meier: 1AA Northwestern State(lol), La-Monroe(lol), Toledo(lol), Oklahoma State, Baylor, Iowa State, and Kansas State
Freeman: Oklahoma Sate, Nebraska, Mizzou, Iowa State, Colorado, Texas, Kansas

record as starter
Meier: 4-3 (cough, 1AAwin and La-Monroe)
Freeman: 4-3

Completions-attempts-int-compl %
Meier: 96-169-10-56.8
Freeman: 116-202-9-57.4  ....all numbers in there point to Freeman

Passing yards
Meier: 1,094
Freeman: 1,437

Yards per game
Meier: 156.3
Freeman: 205.3

Yards per attempt
Meier: 6.5
Freeman: 7.1

Yards per completion
Meier: 11.4
Freeman: 12.4

TD passing
Meier: 12**
Freeman: 6

Passing Efficiency
Meier: 122.8 (cough, OOC games)
Freeman: 118.1

** = 6 of 12 TD's were vs. 1AA Northwestern State, suckage La-Monroe, and Toledo

Next year when ku does not have a running game and still no speed at receiver to strech the field....good luck to Meier.

What about Meier's running stats?

...and most importantly Meier's wins vs. kstate = 1, freeman vs. ku =0

Meier had zero influence on the game yesterday.  He was bad.

Kerry has 300 rushing yards.  And, again, he has an OL w/ 98 career starts in the interior OL.

True...Meier made his share of mistakes vs KSU

Here is Meier's stats (5 rushing TD's to go along w/ his 12 passing TD's)...

RUSHING              GP-GS  Att Gain Loss  Net   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
Meier, Kerry          7-7       93  427   93  334   3.6   5   31     47.7

yep, but 147 rushing yards and 4 of the 5 rushing TD's were against...you guessed it.  1AA, Monroe, and Toledo.

While everyone here realizes Meier is a good runner...Freeman is every bit the threat when he vacates the pocket.  But we don't use him in the run game.

Meier is not bad but he has more experience in the current system, surrounded by players w/ experience in the current system, and sheltered by a good running game from the start of th season.  We'll see how he looks next year.

Freeman can win games single handedly...I doubt either Meier or Reesing can.

hatter, what was your famous quote a while back?  something like "ku's offensive options are being eliminated as we speak"

KM's stats look an awful lot like Dylan's in 04.  Anyone care to look those up?

I think it will be interesting how they replace Cornish next season.  They'll need McAnderson to shoulder more of the load imo to keep their brittle Qb's from smapping like pretzel logs.  And I'm not sure Sharp will be durable enough.

But I've been wrong before.

someone sneezes and jake sharp goes down

the funny thing about all those meier rushing yards is how much time he missed because of it.  talk about a major problem with your offensive philosophy/QB recruiting success.

Freeman's only starting work was in the conference schedule. I'm wondering what kind of numbers #1 can put together against the directionals of the world.

Webb: 2-4
Meier: 1-5
Everage: 1-5

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
