Notice how the "sellout" had large sections of empty seats on the lower southwest corner and in the bowl?  No one can fudge numbers like ku.

Their math department must have no Asians in it at all.

It got loud in the 4th quarter.  It was a snoozer until then.  Their pregame is awful.  Made me appreciated KSU's.  A ku fan was saying that it was extremely loud the entire game.  I told him to never go to another big 12 stadium.

except cu and baylor.

The play a lot of almost soft music during the game. Not crowd pumping music at all. Some was, but a lot wasn't.

The techno music was interesting.  I was half expecting the students to break out glow sticks and start making out with eachother before each kick off.

It is pathetic that they sing along with that techno song.

haha. true. i have a couple next to me..probably in their 60's(seems to be most of the ku crowd age) singing that damn song.

it seemed like there were only about 200 of those 'terrible' towels being used.

their one scoreboard came over on the santa maria. no...the nina..my bad.

We all know there's been a conspiracy. Only the failures have been recorded.

Now that's funny....I don't care who you are!
" and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me," Carl Spackler

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice how freaking long it took the PA guy to tally up the yardage for a play? For instance, there would be a field goal, and then literally 4 plays later, the PA guy would come on with his old-man, I'm-just-happy-to-be-alive voice and say "That last field goal was 38 yards!"

the fact that there is a thread about memorial stadium on this board makes this board suck.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Yeah, to have a thread about how a stadium sucks is so Hen House Metrosexual like.

That being said, you've got to give ku a little credit for digging out the bowels of that piss stained $hit hole and fixing it up a little . . . but hey, look at that "setting".

Anybody else think his voice sounded like a computer?

I have been a proponent of knocking it down and building a new one in its place for a while.  What I don't get is that they are building $25 million worth of facilities on to a 90 year old stadium.  It won't be more than 10-15 years before the structure of the stadium decays to the point where it is no longer safe.  Its like putting expensive new wheels on an 81 honda.  We have the money to build a new one, yet don't pull the trigger.  Its very frustrating.

Sounds similar to what my fellow idiot taxpayers voted 'Yes' to in Jackson County, with the Truman Sports Complex.
I now have to pay 10% on my McDonald's and have a outdated complex to show for it.  :blank:

They could do the same with Allen Field House.  Getting rid of that roach-infested, cob-web-collecting, crap hole and building a nice new sterile environment would be a great solution!

I don't know why anyone would want to tear down ku's Memorial Stadium.   Yes it is nearly a 90 year old turd that they put the scrub brush on a few years back.

But it has seen some of the greatest college football in history, it's an historical landmark unto itself, it is in the most beautiful setting in all the world, in the greatest college town in all the world.

According to my geography-major friend at ku, they can't make any significant new construction there, because it's built over a swamp.  Evidently, Potters' Lake used to be a lot bigger than it is now.

bslimz is correct. Also, they can never add anything onto it that isn't considered a "memorial" the guy that donated all of the land required when he donated it that it is only used for memorials and such. that is why there is absolutely no parking. and the only way they were allowed to build the football stadium is if they named it, guess what, memorial stadium. so the name will NEVER change.

It could use some help, yeah.

And its getting it.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70
