KSU football and Ron Prince (ex-coach of the year) has managed to annihilate all momentum it gained from the UT win (which you can still get on a special DVD, operators are standing by).  Getting your ass handed to you by your rival does that.  I'd like to think that Raheem (ex-genius) would spend the bowl preparation and offseason figuring out how to stop the run. It's pretty cool that the o-line went back reverted back to not being able to stop angry girl scouts from getting to the QB and Freeman damn near accounted for all of ku's points.  And memo to Ian Campbell, if you're going to talk trash, don't go "thomas clayton" and do nothing to back it up; at least McClinton backed up what he had to say.

No, they've still got plenty of momentum.

Horrible post, overall.

What momentum is that, exactly?  Yippie...we're going to a bowl game.  We had the opportunity to go to a very good bowl game.  Now, if ku beats MU, ku will finish 2nd, MU 3rd, and KSU fourth in the North.  We had it all out in front of us and pissed it down our legs.  The UT games looks more like a fluke after that kind of loss. I expected to lose, but not get our ass handed to us.  What part of the post was inaccurate? We can't stop the run, Ian Campbell did nothing, McClinton was disrupting plays and terrorizing our o-line; an o-line that reverted back to its old ways, and Freeman had a terrible game.

I was excoriated in a post where I said we needed to shore up the run game with something along the lines of ku ain't no UT....Well UT ain't no ku, ku's got the fat-man and UT's got the Mack "I'm so pretty" Brown.  Mangino is smart enought to exploit weaknesses and keep on exploiting them....Mack isn't.

We have issues with our run-game defense and we haven't figured it out quite yet.  It's been disguised over the past several weeks by playing poor teams (OSU rushing and ISU) and having good offensive performances.  We need to shore it up and I'm confident that Raheem's not an "ex-genius" and he will.  I think the answer lies not in the X's and O's but the Jim's and Joe's, particularly at D-Tackle.

Campbell got some good pressure on Golden Boy several times.

The gameplan didn't do our O-line any favors IMO.  KSU should run the ball twice as many times as they did.

When you don't have an receivers that can get seperation then you NEED to run the football.

Once Patton got passed the initial point of attack, ku couldn't tackle him until he was another 8 yards down the field.

Our rookie staff simply got outcoached by a very veteran staff.  Going to a bowl game with a completely new staff, a backfield full of true freshmen, and a team coming off consecutive last place finishes is very positive momentum.

There is nothing worth melting down over.

Chill.

It's not melting down.  I didn't say our program was doomed.  But it was a horrible game from start to finish.  I don't know how you get out coached in that game.  Seriously, the crap that we did was just stupid and stubborn.  And defensively, we got punched in the mouth, there was no out coaching.  They ran all over us doing the same thing they've been doing with Meier in there.  Instead of forcing sunshine to throw (and when he did he was doing his best Dylan Meier impression) we let Cornish embarass us.  I'm thrilled we're going to a bowl game; I really didn't expect to get to 6 wins.  But I would have rathered a 45-42 loss to Texas and a 39-20 win over ku.  The Texas victory, after this embarassing ku loss, doesn't really mean a whole hell of a lot.

We didn't have marcus watts or kyle williams to stop the option.  Cornish doesn't get all those yds up the middle with those two.

 :bs:

yeah, we missed them.  But if we're going to start putting an asterisk by ku's win then we should put one by our UT victory.  You play with who you have.   No excuses.  We got beat, badly.

Yeah, and people here were bristling last week when Texas fans were saying they would have won with McCoy healthy.  Well, you know what?  Injuries are part of the game.  Good coaching staffs adjust and deal with them.  We'll be fine once RP has a chance to get some depth in here.  You watch, once this speed gets on campus people will be  at us.
Once you get past the ethics, the rest is easy.

But it's hard to adjust when your starting QB is out.  It's even harder, ie Impossible, when your top 3 WRs are out/hobbled, your top 3 safeties are out, and 2 of your top 3 CBs are out.

catzacker,

with both kwho and mizzou @ 3 & 4 and us @ 4 & 4 in conference play, the winner takes 2nd by tiebreaker over us, we take third and the loser takes fourth.

Actually, assuming ku wins next week, we both finish tied for 2nd.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if ku wins, that would put ku, MU, and KSU all at 4-4....so both ku and MU would have the tie breaker over us, and ku would have the tie breaker over MU.  The order would  then be NU, ku, MU, KSU, CU, ISU.

I'll be cheering for MU this weekend.

Tie-breaker? WHO THE &@#% USES A TIE-BREAKER TO DETERMINE THE 3,4,5th place big 12 north teams??

The conference will recognize us as 2nd in the big 12 north.

Just ask ku basketball fans that claim conference titles despite getting drilled head to head.

But yeah, please mizzou...do something worthwhile.

When the conference lists their offical final standings, it will show us 4th in the North Standings, assuming a ku win.

Gary Pinkel should look into getting his "second half of the season downward spiral" patented.  It's quite impressive.

Look at how they list the standings.

Now, tell me how did Mizzou do vs ISU and NU last year?

Why do you think the big 12 gave us a trophy after we finished tied with NU at 7-1 in 1999 for the north title?

I'm sorry I'm never going to consider that 99 team as North Champions nor will I consider this team tied for 2nd in the North; as you stated earlier, I'll save that type of thinking for ku fans.

I'm just telling you how the big 12 recognizes it. I agree with the big 12. That's why the conference title game is so kick-ass...we don't have shared titles in football.

Sorry you didn't know how it works. Hopefully you now know.

catzacker is showing how big of a &@#%ing idiot he is, once again. Mizzou already have four losses. If they lose again they will have five. The lost to NU, TAMU, OU, and ISU. Mizzou will beat ku and will tie with us for 2nd. ku will finish fourth. CU fifth. and ISU sixth.
