It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

fatty, Mizzou lost to OK, Nub, and TAMU, they would only have to lose to one team to be below us. Thus, ku can still lose out :D and NU doesn't HAVE to lose to CU..

Edit: Fatty, I think you meant to say Mizzou over ISU. You put ISU with zero wins in conference and then said they won the game

The Big XII getting two BCS slots is a longshot.  The Big Televen is likely going to get two automatic qualifiers with OSU/Mich being #1/#3 (if they aren't #1/#2), Notre Dame will probably be an automatic qualifier with a top 8 BCS finish, ditto Boise State will be in with a top 12 finish.  Add in the five other automatic qualifiers and nine of the ten available spots are filled before anyone gets around to selecting an at-large team.  There's pretty much no way the Big XII can play out to have two teams finish ranked nearly highly enough to get the only at-large slot that'll likely be available.

I also see no way that the Big 12 gets 2 BCS teams.  Our only shot at Holiday is if the Gator Bowl would pick a Big 12 team, and that seems unlikely right now.  They pick #4 in the Big 12 pecking order and UT, OU, and NU will be gone* by that point so the only choice would be MU or us and I don't think they'd pick either over the Big East #2 which will be a ranked WVU, Rutgers, or Louisville.  So our Holiday shot is very slim IMO.

The next best scenario is the Alamo, but I think we need both aTm and MU to lose for that to happen.  I think its likely that aTm loses, but I don't see it with MU.

If the Holiday falls through, I could see us in the Sun Bowl or the Insight Bowl.

All of this also assumes a win in Lawrence, which I don't think will be as easy as some think.

*assumes UT winning over aTm.

I believe the Gator has a 1-time exception that allows them to pick second from the Big XII teams.  Yes, ahead of the Cotton Bowl.  No reason for them to use it this year though.  The #2 Big East team a Big XII team would replace is likely to be top 10 while the #2 Big XII team will be fortunate to be top 20.

Word.  I had my concerns about this game at the beginning of the week, and they haven't been eased since.  ku's gonna be fired up.   :frown:
